You just published your phone number to every single person on the internet. I would imagine if you do that as carelessly as you just did you have probably already given it to 1000's of individuals so unless you're going to change your number you pretty much screwed yourself. Of course you most likely have it listed blatantly on Facebook as well so anyone in the world can have it so I doubt it matters very much you gave your identity away for free. You might want to actively use your brain the next time you do anything with any of your information.

called to verify a phone person gave fake name and I was scamed

a person who I thought was a friend gave me a fake  name had this number 202455888 to :give code to set up a phone and they scammed me I changed my number but is worried they might try to get money through my Google account

they call my business #       WELL  this is a scam

It called me twice last noce givingme a code to punch in ani did not know what it was so i did not reply back i was sleeping

Received a call from this number. Googled it and there is a good deal of information on it in google voice forums.
Trying to steal your number etc. Do Not Anwser a call unless you know who it is. Do not enter any digits such as 41.
White Pages reverse look up showed phone number as a Google Voip number from Vienna, VA.
White pages also showed that this number was associated with Dolce Via LLC.

This guy from 2024558888 tried calling me several times last evening said I was gonna get call giving me a code I have several voice mails but there is nothing there just says enter code I told him in text I had company and couldn't answer phone

It's a scammer getting you to verify your phone number and allow it to be linked to a Google Voice account so they can scam others!  I guess the only way to remedy the situation is to set up your own Google Voice account and re-claim your #.  (It's free)  See these links I found:

Call from 1-202-455-8888

Got a call from this number on my cell.  Didn't pick up. Call went straight to voicemail.

Message left stated that it need my 2 digit code. Deleted message. I refuse to respond to anyone asking for personal information such as passwords over the phone.

Don't know this person

I got a call from this number and it simply gave me a verification code.  Repeated it and I hung up.

Thanks for the info I am selling a car on craigslist. then got this call 3:20 am.

ok folks i have one thing to add... for those of you claiming this # is from the Google 2 step verification process, I will say that is bogus!  I use 2 step verification on all my online services, ie google, microsoft, etc.... anyone using any of those knows full well that you will ONLY get those calls when you are signing in to your account.... not at all various times of the day, and at 2am and other weird times that you are not even on your computer or signed into those accounts.  Those calls are only initiated at the moment you login to your account, so the only way this # could be calling for that reason is either 'you are signing in, or someone else has your info and is signing in...but never would it be a live person and never would it be just a missed call with no msg because you would hear the verification pre message on your answering machine/voicemail.
Also just as a suggestion, if you are logging in to your accounts often, I would highly recommend you put the 'Authenticator' app (both google and microsoft have them) on your smartphone, it is internal only, generates codes by an algorithm which is only done locally on your phone and not web based and does not use network, so therefore it is totally private. I use the Authenticators for all my accounts, and only have 1 of my phone #'s listed as a backup method if I don't have the device with the Authenticator with me, and you have to tell it to use the backup when you're logging in.  Any other type of call from this # not initiated by your current attempt to login to your account is TOTALLY BOGUS AND IS NOT GOOGLE!!
