I'm on the do not call list and would appreciate these people not call.

Called this morning. Didn't leave a message. Just tried to call back. First it says you are being forwarded to a voice message system, then it says the mailbox is full.

Another poster answered and revealed them as a telemarketer. They get our numbers RANDOMLY. I don't know how they manage to get ONLY cell numbers. My best guess is that the cell companies (in my case-Virgin Mobile) are making cool cash selling them the numbers. I would be curious to know how many of us here have NO CONTRACT phones. I NEVER pick up a number not in my contacts. If they really want to speak to you, they will leave a voice mail. They almost NEVER do. If they continue to call..I call them ONCE from a HOUSE PHONE to make a contact in the cell that says what it is and "do not answer".

This call came in showing DIS OF COLUMBIA and when I answered, it says I was the winner of a cruise for two people if I just answered a short survey. Since I am a travel agent I knew it was a scam. I could press one to take the survey and 2 to decline and take our number off their list. Since we are on the do not call list, I pressed 2 to decline and then reported the number to the government so they are fined.

If you are on the do not call list, it is imperative you report every one of these calls so these companies are fined for these calls. The penalty is $1,000 per call!

Calls 2 - 3 times a day, no one talks.

Called did not leave message.  Why these calls keep coming when we are on the Do Not Call List?
What is being done to stop these calls?

On Do Not Call List both my cell and home phone.  I get more unsolicited calls now than before.  All are recorded solicitors.  If you miss and call back, the number is busy.  I now delete any unknown number, I have programmed any number I want to receive a call from or that I have called requesting a return call.

The FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com

You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them.

1.    Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
2.    Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone

5.    People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office

I get calls from this number and many others always speaking about credit card debt relief.

If the number is not in my addresses, I never answer.  I teach at a university, and I always tell my students to leave a message because I will not pick up.  They do.  Saves me a bunch of time.  I agree -- the "do not call" list is a joke.

On do not call list  for home and cell.  Should not be getting calls like this.  This number called my cell which I do not give out .  They must look at list to get your numbers.   Now have list of 57 numbers.

I picked up the phone before I looked at the number. This was a telemarketer stating I had gotten two cruise tickets if I would take a short survey. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST, what good does it do? Please make these calls stop.

Voice mailbox is full and no name...a spammer for certain

keep getting calls from this number all times of day and night and they don't leave messages or talk when we answer.
