I just got the same call. I asked to call them back and the 'specialist' claimed it had to be done NOW. That was my cue to walk a way.

How many calls did you get BEFORE you signed up for the Do Not Call list.  You all complain about the list, but IT IS WORKING.  I use to get several EVERY DAY, now I get one in a blue moon.  Certainly seems to work for me.

The only way to know for sure is to take your number OFF the list for awhile and see what happens...

I didn't answer this call, either.  Sort of wish I had so I could pull my "reverse scam" on them.  I would have gone along with them and when it got to where I was to give them my credit card number, I'd make something up.  If they have the ability to verify numbers right way, I'd say I was quoting from memory, make them wait while I "found" the card, and basically keep them on the line as long as possible.

If EVERYONE did this, instead of going through 1,000 numbers an hour, they would only be able to hit about a dozen, or less.  That would slow them down so much as to make their operation unprofitable.  Hope some of you decide to try this yourself.

The DNC list is a joke. Last month I received 14 calls from these [***] in a 4 day period!  Someone calling from Elwood IL was espescially bad calling 4 times in that period.  I never got that many calls before the list. When I report it, they just file it with all the other complaints.  I never hear about any arrests or scams being broken up. I'm fed up.

Call came in at 1:29 pm, not home, no message left. Called back this evening, busy signal.

Heard their story about answering a few survey questions re: the national debt and that I would be given a free cruise for 2 people.  all I would have to do is pay the taxes and fees.    If they can afford to send people on cruises, they can fix the debt!!!  Clearly this is a scam and as for the Do Not Call List, they all seem to ignore it because they know they won't get charged with anything.

Got a call from 202 499-1485 today and 202 499-1479 on 11/11/2011, no message.

Rec'd call & a recording came on saying I would win a cruise for 2 after answering a few questions.
I hung up.
