I received call today May13 2014 about $9,000 grant the government is supposed to be giving away this is the number I was told to call 202-470-1647 and give this claim number GG1053 I think this a fraudulent call

Yeah they just called me and told me that i was receiving 9000 dollars from the Federal Reserve Bank Of NY. I am so tired of ppl trying to take hard working peoples money. Plus i have received money from the government before and it was just a check in the mail. So Scam....

i got the same type of call today and the # was  202738 1511  and they gave the # to call and get the info from 2027381393 the same address was given to me and same amount was asked to put in green money paer card to get from wal mart and walgreens  so i tried  to search the web and i got these comments and still it is a worry that after many years i saw last (comment was  from 2011) they are still doing the same scam how come they r not get caught .
the basic thing is that the # they call from or the # they give to call on the first try to call them give the messege that this # is not working when u call second time they confirm that they get the call from the # where they called then they attend and ask the same thing to do mentioned above its a big scam

They tried to get me too. They told me it was LIHEAP of Michigan. Tot a l lie, I found out later. I almost fell for it until I called LIHEAP and they told me it wad a SCAM!!!!

I called the guy back and told him he was a liar and a thief and that the better business buero would be aware of this! Next step is calling the FBI!

I got the call today they wanted my credit card to charge me 3 dolllars to do the paperwork for a 10,000 grant .Lucky for me i knew that the grant system does not work like that/I do have an application in for a grant so i was almost convinced it was real untill they asked me how i would use the grant that's when i knew it was a scam..I told them i would call and see if this was real first before i give anyone my card as i know the grant people.

I got the same call but from lady name Kelly Cruz. She even gave me con# and phone # that i have to call was 202-697-9980.
She gave me the name officer is Kelvin Smith. I am glad that i have a simple i and new ride a way that a scam.

Got a Call about an hour ago from a Neal Walker ID # 113AE said he was calling from the United States Government in Washington D.C address 200 Independence Ave H BLDG

Telling me I was going to receive a check for 7000.00 dollars of course I knew this was a scam all they wanted from me was 3.87 told me I could put it on a prepaid card. Kept telling me the call is being recorded. Said something about a grant I said I did not apply for any grant then I guess they hung up. Don't fall for this anyone out there!!

THEY HAVE BEEN CALLING ME NON STOP FOR MONTHS FROM ANONYMOUS, AND 5 OTHER PHONE NUMBERS. all from district of Columbia. when i try and call them back to tell them to stop calling me. it immediately hangs up. They just called me and told me to call THIS number 1 202 738 4227 to receive my $9200 grant for being a good tax payer. also giving me the 200 dependence ave address. they gave me an approval code GG1155 to speak with the gentlemen. where i have to make a $200 deposit on my money thats being held. its a scam. I hate these people.

I want to report to the police they call me almost every two days...and at 4 in the morning and at random times.
i hate them. i tell them to stop calling me and they keep going. i blocked half their numbers then they call from a separate number or from UNKNOWN.

I got a call from a female first named Jenny and she said that she was from Federal Government Grants Department of Health and Human Services and that I had earned 7800.00 free grant money. I tried to ask her how is that possible to get money for free when you want money to give me the money. She tried to tell me no no no, that it was free that I didn't have to give any money. So I was ignorant and listened. Got through to making sure my house info and phone number was right then she passed me to her supervisor. Name of Angel. Got through more info and then it came out giving up the 200.00 to open the account. I said you all just told me I didn't have to give any money. They said this was to open the account. I paid it. I expected them to place the money in my account. Next it came to 500.00 for a one time tax fee for the 7800.00.  So that was paid and again expected the money in my account. Next, they wanted 650.00 for the transfer fee. Now I have been waiting for almost a week for my money and they had refused my phone calls now on my house and cell cause me getting irate on the phone to them stating that they are thieves and liers. My husband called them from his phone and they told him that the money is being transferred. I checked my account while he was on the phone and no money. They are being reported to the Federal Commissions. I know there is another word that goes to that dept. but I know what I am saying. By the way, the number calling me was from 2024079095.  I have learned my lesson for sure even though I am out 1350.00, but this is for anyone else out there who is thinking about doing anything like this from this same type of so called dept. The last person I was sent and dealt with the most was an Alfred Jones.

That was Federal Trade Commission. They took my complaint and informed me that I needed to go and file a complaint with where I got the green dot money pak cards because unfortunately you can not get your money back from them, which is why the fraud people use them. I am also changing my account to a new one when I get paid.

I recieve one of these calls once a week it seems.

Today I was talking with an 'Evelyn' who told me she again works at the same building in DC.  I started messing with her asking about herself, her age, her nationality etc etc.. I even went as far as to ask her if shes married or has any kids.  After some small talk she then wanted me to give her my facebook info so she could look me up and add me as a friend.  Said she hated her job and she doesnt make enough money.. HAHAHA..  

I know its a scam so everytime my goal is to waste as much of their time as possible and get them super pissed off.

I feel bad for people that lose money to these people because its SO OBVIOUS its a scam.  You people who are so blind and naive are what keep these people in business and who makes them continue to call EVERYONE ELSE.  STOP BEING SO DAMN STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe all the people who are actually stupid enough to fall for this! After reading through these comments I'm convinced that some people just shouldn't own phones if they can't differentiate between a scam and a legit business- who typically don't cold call soliciting money/offer grants. Nobody ever calls to just GIVE money. Grants won't ask for verification or a deposit because you have to apply for things like that. If you lose your money to a scam like this, its a shame, but you deserve it for being a moron.

People sometimes make bad decisions based on the information they are provided and nobody is immune to this. Suggesting these people deserve what they get through their own naivety or stupidity does not form the basis of an argument, nor does it offer anything constructive.
