Just got the exact same call, for the second time. The last time they got my husband on the phone they asked him for his credit card number. He told them he doesn't give it to anyone that wants to give him money, especially to foreigners using a disguised US phone number. They hung up on him. They can keep their scam. I will have no part in it.

The guy who called me said his name was Mike Wilson. Something doesn't fit. His accent didn't match this kind of name.

I got this call today. They say that I have a grant for 9,000.00 from the government. To call this number. With a code number right after they get off the phone. That all I know.

I received a call from (202)000-1111 telling me I had earned a grant from the U.S. Government and instructed me to calls (202) 738-4653 to obtain my money. Using my brain, I knew to check it out and saw these comments. Why can't something be done about these scams?? Why aren't people smart enough to NOT send money??

They sat on the phone with Me for 2 hour to try and get me to send them 200 $ and then when I get a recipt they will tell me how to collect my 9000 had me call her when I got to a western union. And she hung up on me when I said the internet was not letting me send it. I swear that was god saving my money when the internet wouldn't work every time I went to complete the send.

Well, a new set of scammers seem to have appropriated this number... I just got a robocall from this number (caller ID said "Washington DC" that left a message saying the the IRS was filing a lawsuit on me (not against me... ON me) and that I should call them back. Not fair, I want all the free money all of you people are getting. :/

Seriously though, scammers are the worst, and I hate that there are people out there that will fall for this, and have their holidays ruined.

New scam - now they call via an automated message, saying they are "the final call from the IR who is filing a suit against me". RIIIIIIIIIIGGGHHTTTT. Thy say to cal the 202-738-4653 number for information. Don't fall for it, people!

Got an automated call from this number telling me I was being sued by the IRS. And was to call (202) 738-4653.

Called at 5:40AM Saturday morning, claiming to be the IRS.  We have heard about this scam and just hung up. Way too early even for scammers.

message on my cell stating  "This is the IRS calling to inform you that we will be filing a lawsuit against you.  Please call 202-738-4653 right away."  It was an automated voice with an urgent tone to it.  I deal with the IRS on a regular basis.  So I called the IRS number that I always use and they told me indeed it is a scam.  They never leave messages but send certified letters if they need to contact anyone regarding their account.

They called  multiple times telling me I was being investigated by the IRS and to call them back at this number 202-738-4653

So far I have received 3 calls from this number Yesterday and today). I didn't answer any of them because I have caller ID and don't answer any that I don't recognize. (My phone displayed only the number, not a name.) Each time they left a recorded message that I should call them back "regarding a lawsuit filed against you" and left this same number. No name was left, and they clearly didn't know who I am.

The recording was of a female with no distinct accent. How do the previous commenters know that are calling from a foreign country and are terrorists?

Recording claims the US Government is suing me, yet no one answers when you try to return the call.

called twice and left message to call this number regarding a CASE..........called it just now  could not understand man with accent   said he is from Pakistan   asked him   what do you want.....he said to f....  me  told him not to call this number again

Dont fall for it.....report it.   Said internal revenue service was suing us....dont respond to call

Got the same call as mentioned above; "last notice...IRS has a suit against me."  Ridiculous.  Wants me to call 202-738-4653.  I wish someone could pull their number from existence.  They are criminals preying on unsuspecting, vulnerable citizens.  Don't call the number!

They (202-738-4653) called my 17 year-old daughter telling her the IRS was filing suit against her.  I'd like to find the little [***]....
