    Scammers
You know it's a scam when the people over the phone cannot even speak English correctly. Also, you know you're not legitimate when you forget to state that the call is being recorded for quality purposes; however, I am interested in calling you back and screwing with you guys. Pretend to go along. That would be fun.

    Compensation
The only compensation due is to those who had to suffer listening to the Proclaimers.       Your own whining voice surely qualifies for double payments.

Recently, fraudsters have been instructing victims to purchase gift cards (iTunes, Amazon, Apple, etc.) in amounts of $200+. Once the gift cards are purchased, the fraudsters ask the victims for the claim code on the back of the card, claiming their (fictitious) grant funds will be released to their personal accounts after they provide this information. This is a new method of scamming victims out of money.
Please note the Federal Reserve Bank of New York is NOT involved in any federal grant program. We urge the public to remain alert to fraudulent scams involving individuals who purport to be employees of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York does not maintain grant money or any other type of funds/accounts for individuals.

Wanted to give me a grant for $9,000, that my name was picked from millions US citizens to aid the US to help with the economic downfall. Since I was an upstanding US citizen all I had to do was go to a "Wal-Mart" and register with the Federal Trade Commission there would be a fee of $100.00 and I would get my $100.00 back as soon as I obtained the confirmation #  since they could not release any money till I registered my number with the commission. He identified  himself as Shawn Walker ex # 116,  he had an Indian accent like a person from India.
