Did you at one time apply for a loan over the internet and then you were asked to purchase a green dot card and put money on it?  Then they would supposedly then forward you the money?  Be careful as they also probably have your bank account information.  THIS IS A SCAM.

I received a message on my work and cell phone yesterday from these same people, telling me they needed either myself or my attorney to call them back asap regarding a case that is filed against me. When I called them, they were "shocked" to find out I had no idea what they were talking about. They said I took out an online payday loan from American Cash and they were the Attorney's hired. They threatened to call my employer to let them know I commited bank fraud, as well as having the police pick me up from my home or job, and my bond would be over $5000, then have to pay an additional $3000 in attorney fees and court costs. I have no idea who these people are and why they are calling. I have not taken out a loan from American Cash.

Sloop these guys are real idiots.  My person was named Jason White and left 2 threatening messages on my cell phone and called my work.  They are a scam and just let them know you contacted the FTC and FCC about them and gave their name and number.  They get real cute then. I did call the FTC and its a common scam happening now and it looks like they get their info from payday loan providers. Mine at the end of his message said  he can only say God be with you and your impending situation. Call the FTC about this number and learn your rights. They are very helpful.

It's a scam just don't worry about it and just tell them each time they call they are frauds, don't even let them speak. I promise they will stop calling you. ask them for the street address of their law firm and I guarantee they will not give it to you because they are fraud, also ask them to send you something in the mail that you can verify with the BBB I guarantee they won't and he will just say ok we re going to put this case against you and  we just want to wish you the best of luck. Trust me it's a scam I like to tell them to [***] lol

Same issue as been reported here.. Been looking for the "Legal ASSOCITES" that is how they stated in on my cell.. I call back and when they answered they spoke quickly the name and everything. I told them I was reporting them and he said I would be arrest at 4pm at my work and that the judge would put me in prison that day.. Well I did some digging and called the the State Bar of Alabama and they do not have a the RHODES and FRANKLIN Legal Assocites of Burhingham Al or Rose Franklin Legal Associates listed. They did have a Rose law firm and I called them and chatted with a nice lady and she stated that they heard about them and it is a scam.. I have this happen on other time.. The message is the same each time..
    Keep report them.. It helps..

This morning, I got a call from this number, AGAIN.  As I have been getting calls almost every morning (keep in mind that I have only had this phone number for 3 weeks, and started getting the calls after about a week--without giving my phone number to anyone other than immediate family) and getting no response when I answer, I let it go to voice mail.   A very strong accented man left a message saying that there is lawsuit against someone not even listed on my phone number, told that he needs to contact them as soon as he gets this message, and threatening that they will not be responsible for "whatever happens" to this person if he does not.
I have read the reviews on here for this number, and the man who called me also had an extremely bad accent (you can't even hear his name on the voice message- though maybe that was intentional?). My caller ID shows the call is from Clanton, AL (a few other reviews noted Alabama).  I noticed that there are others on here that said that these people had their social #'s.

( NOT FROM THIS PHONE NUMBER, JUST SOME ADVICE FROM A PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE)
For those people, I did have some scammers call me years ago that were, in my opinion, looking at my credit report and trying to collect for ANYONE they could.  I tried talking in circles with them to try to verify who they really were, if they were actually the ones I needed to pay, asking them quite a few different times who they were collecting for, as well as the amount, etc. Best thing to ask for is validation of your debt and original debtor (as they are legally required to send you this) in paper form, or send them a request for one via certified mail (I would only recommend this if you actually believe there is a chance they are someone you owe). These people started getting angry and told me they were collecting for a different company (other than the original one they had stated and played a pretty good game with for a few weeks) on my credit report.  I asked them, "I thought you were collecting for...?" When I called them out on being scammers and probably having my credit report right in front of them, they started making threats, tried pretty desperately to get any money they could from me. Then, when they finally realized that I had known for a while (through dozens of phone calls--recorded on my part as well =) , mail, names, addresses, etc. that I had been keeping for my own evidence), they said they would be sending ME a check in the mail (that I never received, of course) and stopped calling, as well as stopped answering my inquiring phone calls. I had been so difficult with this particular "company" that they would only let me speak with one particular person, as no one else could answer my questions straightly.

Just saying, sometimes it helps to catch them in lies (just be 100% sure that they are before accusing) and be semi-aggressive with it.  It also makes me feel better to know that I have made their "job" harder and wasted just as much of their time-if not more- than they have mine.
A good way to catch and stop these people before they actually scam you is to read the fair credit reporting and debt collection act (if applicable to your situation), know it (or have a copy for reference), and quote it when they do things that go against it. Seem smarter and be more difficult than they are and they will most likely give up on you and move on to the next person. Most legitimate companies/collectors will follow these rules. Today's scammers, in my experience, make many mistakes regarding this act.
Anyways, I will be figuring out as much about this caller as possible over the next few days/weeks.  I will try to update on here after all is said and done, as we need to fight back against this crap, or at least make their scams harder to accomplish and seem like a waste of their time. I hope that some of my information helped someone.  =  )

I just got the same call.  Since I didn't know of anyone suing me I asked about what? They said to hold on as they transfer me to an attorney.  I said again, what case, and they said they will transfer me to so and so attorney, I said, I don't think so, and they responded they will send someone to my place of employment. I said go ahead.  I am not working.  lol
I also received an email stating that I owed money and needed to be in court TODAY...in NEW YORK.  I unfortunately have never been, so?? That was from a Peter Williams @live.com.  Ya, right.  Oh, they also said S Allan Hill Atty s again @live.. I am reporting this. To FBI. They have a scam box for this type, using lawyers names etc.  Thanks people for posting, nice not being alone.

I have been getting calls from the same creeps, Robert Smith and John Marshall they leave messages on my phone that there is a warrant out for my arrest for fraud, bad checks and all kinds of crap. It's been going on for almost 2 years. This morning I was at work and got I message so I returned the call and ask what they were calling threatening me for. They said I had to go to CVS and get a Vanilla Reload Network card, PayPal scratch off for 125.16 and call John Marshall back and scratch off the 10 digit # and give it to him and they would release all liability and not arrest me.. They claimed I turned down a cash loan and the 125.16 was the cancellation fee for not taking the loan.. Needless to say my Husband called our attorney and they hung up on him.. This is a serious scam and they will hound you until you wanna scream... Long and short of it, ITS A SCAM !!!!! They have called me up to 20 times a day... You can't block them they just use another # but it's the same voice that you can't make heads or tails of what there saying!!!!

I also have received calls from this number and he claims his name is Justin, with an Indian accent.  He states that either I or my attorney needs to contact him and that if I don't then this matter will fall on me.  He has called my house and my place of employment also.  I have submitted numbers to the Federal Trade Commission and Do Not Call list and have filed complaints and they continue to call.
