Got three calls from (234) 567-811 just in the morning. I picked up the third time. Some guy with a thick accent who could barely remember his lines said he is calling from some department of the Federal Government in Washington DC and that I had been randomly selected. I asked him his name, he said Gabriel. I asked him his number, he gave me (206) 866-5569. I told him to go on. He repeated himself a couple more times before telling me what I was selected for - $10,000 grant. That's when I figured out he was trying to pronounce the "Grant Department" earlier. Then he asked if I wanted to know how I was selected. I said, "no, but here is what I want you to do. I want you to remove my number from your database while I check with my FBI and federal prosecutor friends about why you're claiming to be calling from Washington DC when your area code is that of Seattle, Washington. Then I will get back to you." He said to go ahead and call then he hung up. Not the brightest scammer I've ever encountered.
