yeah, got the same call, and same BS automated line- My Caller ID actually said ..PAYPHONE, lol, so before I even Googled it and found this forum, I knew it was baloney.

FYI---My wife got the same call this morning from (209) 813-0138 (209 area code is somewhere near Stockton, CA), the caller said (Indian accent), after my wife pushed him a little,  "...we (meaning IRS) are issuing a warrant for your arrest." She was suspicious and pressed the guy for more info, he threw out the "arrest warrant" thing one more time and hung up.  This guy's on a fishing expedition for credit card #s.

Yep!  Thanks for everyone's posts.  It looked like a scam, smelled like a scam and WAS a scam!  And, these types don't belong to the groups that honor do not call lists.

Glad people are posting about this.  IRS mails letter after letter after letter after letter, oh, and they mail letters.  No calls.  They just accrue interest and penalties.

Phone message from this number stating they are the IRS and that they are suing us.

Of course it is a scam.

I got a call from 302-397-3259 and they left a message that my husband is under investigation. I am a Tax Accountant and I have a PTIN number under IRS. I know that we reported all income and everything is fine, and I called back. They hung up on me. Then I called back again and again, to the time they talk with me. So the man who pick up the phone told me that I will have a letter from IRS but he didn't explain anything. Searching in Google for this phone I found it as listed under the company Brandywine Waterproofing of Delaware.
I believe it is a scam, because all letters from IRS comes by mail, no one calls. I did take care for other companies and I know that IRS send letters with regular and with a certified mail, but they don't call to warn by phone. For me this is a scam, coming from someone checking if the property is abandon or something like this.
