If the do not call list people would REALLY sue these pesky telemarketers, maybe it would stop 90% of the pesky calls. They just keep trying and getting away with it.

There are "middle man" companies out there who contract with telemarketers, third party debt collectors, scam artists, etc... When these people call you, the "middle men" companies can reroute their phone number using any number that company chooses or would like. I heard a story about a scam debt collector who was harassing a woman for a debt she didn't owe, when she denied that debt and tried proper measures to have them cease and desist....they actually had the nerve to use her local sheriff station's number to threaten to sexually assault her if she didn't pay! Fortunately she found out who they were and sued! =D But I think these "middle men" rerouting companies should be sued, shutdown, and illegalized! They make it possible for these people to slip past these laws that are supposed to protect us AND keep us from being harassed!

If you have caller ID, why (WHY) do you answer a call from someone/somewhere you know nothing about. Pretend to be intelligent and DON'T PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE, AND DON'T RETURN THE CALL.  

It's probably a ROBO CALLER (computer generate call) just to RECORD WHAT TIME OF DAY A FOOL PICK UP THE PHONE; this record is then passed to a TELEMARKETEER (who knows what time of day a fool answered the phone).

Also likely the call originated in a foreign country where DO NOT CALL LAW doesn't apply, then routed through a USA network.  OUTSMART the telemarketers......DON'T PLAY THEIR SILLY GAME.   .  

Hang up when answered

When I call back a message says not in service.
