received a call from 213-537-1429. Found out that it is spark marketing and they are doing a survey for free trade magazines

They are trying to get you to sign up for industry publications. Here is their phone number and you can opt out your phone number. Hope this helps. They also called me twice a day at 6 am and 6:30 am.

I believe these calls are data mining.  They always want me to confirm information that they already have.  When they are finished with "20 questions" they want me to tell them the year I was born, favorite color, dogs name, mothers maiden name, city I was born, etc.  They always say that this last question is to "verify that I talked to them".
Months later they call back and ask the same 20 questions but ask a different "verify" question.  Over a period of time they collect more information than you think you have given.  The magazines I subscribe to must be selling my contact info.

Keeps calling multiple times per day

Same pattern Calls in AM EST - never leaves voice message. Is there a way to block this number on a cell phone? Send it to junk mail folder like email?

This guy tried to give my boss a subscription to Fleet Equipment Magazine. I declined and hung up.

Got this call too. 213-537-1439. Nobody there. Probably just a computer calling me. waster incoming minutes on my cell phone.

They somehow got a hold of my work phone number and have been calling it several times a day.  Not sure how to get rid of it.

213-537-1439 - Just like before, these people have started calling my cell phone nonstop... AGAIN.
Even if I would decide to answer, which I don't anymore, they would just hang up on me anyways.
Luckily, I don't hear it when they call anymore since I saved their number(s)
into my phone under 'Telemarketer-Do NOT Answer' and put a Silent ringtone for them.
Found that they called my cell number 12 times between 4 AM CST and 1 PM CST today. 4 AM!?
Guess it's time to contact the Attorney General's office in California and
see what they have to say about this gross violation of the Fed's DNC list...

I called the opt-out number given above and gave them my number to get off their list.  They said it would take 3-4 days.  We shall see.

I got a call from this number last week. It was for a subscription to "Converting" mag, which has nothing to do with my industry. I'm a printer, but do not convert large sheets of paper into boxes.  Why would anyone WANT a magazine about this?? BORING!!  Anyway, a friend of mine said that the callers get a commission for getting subscriptions.  The mags are FREE, paid for by the advertisers, so just let them earn a living and then throw them away.
HUH??  First of all, if they already know my info, just mail it to me!  I don't have time to verify my address to get junk mail.  I argued w/ the caller that I didn't want the magazine.  She continued to try to convince me that I DID want it. I have a serious problem with people arguing with me while I'm at work and acting like I'M the moron!!!!

My employer has been receiving many calls almost daily from this number. My staff is being constantly harassed by different callers. Each time they call, we request to be placed on the Do-Not-Call register to no avail. Do not accept these calls. Continue to fight terrorism anyway you can!

After about 4 tries we connected and now i get some very valuable trade magazines very useful for my business

I work for a call center and we would be find for everytime the number called and hung up on a person.  This is out of hand companies like this ruin the reputation of call centers that are doing respectable work in the US.  All companies should be required to leave a voicemail message with why they are calling.

Just got their callagain. They have been calling my house multiple times a day for the past couple of weeks. When will they give up?!

Just got a call from these people at work.  There was another person on the other end of the line, but her english was very broken and I couldn't even understand the name of the person she was asking for.  She said this person was the vice president of the university, but there are 5 VPs here.  She got frustrated that I couldn't just direct her call, so she asked for the manager....um, I'm the secretary to the VP, so I guess that would be me.  Anyway, I asked what it was regarding so I could properly direct it.  She lets me know it's for a magazine subscription.  I immediately turn her down, but she is persistant.  I eventually have to hang up on her while she's talking, which I don't like doing.  Anxious to see how many calls we get now...

caller ID said JPC did not answer and no message left

Ok, first things first. Why do these people don't leave a message instead on your voice mail? Because they are not allowed to. Why are they asking so many questions just for a subscription? Those answers are used as research to fuel up the economy, It's called market research, it's been around for some 30 odd years now. They are not rude by the way, they are just frustrated, try calling 350 people a day and spend 5 minutes explaining to them what you are doing, and getting a freaking hard NO for your efforts. Imagine, these guys are calling you in a 12 hour difference, meaning while you are up, and enjoying the wonderful morning breeze, these guys are awake all night trying to sound energetic, while every freaking thing around them is asleep. What's the problem with accent? as long as you understand them it's all fine. Look, these are honest and hardworking people, with families to feed, kids to send to school, futures to build  at the moment, this is the only good thing they have. Try living in a [***] up 3rd world country, with greedy politicians and a screwed system. Please..

Caller ID said SURVEY. Overseas caller asked for one of the managers here who gets a lot of magazine--excuse me--free trade publication--renewal begging calls, and it had the very same feel & sound.

Too many callers say, "This isn't a sales call, it's a survey." The they proceed to try to sell something. One of the oldest sales tricks in practice. But, lying scum are still lying scum. If you can't even give it away, time to go into a new line of business!
