These are worthless imbeciles that have fallen for a recycled robo-caller.  The political opinion ruse is a FAKE BYPASS for the DO NOT CALL ACT which exempts opinion research.

These people are a real joke.

Just got a call from them here too in Ohio.

Same call a few minutes ago. Didn't answer. Said it was L.A.

I just received a call from that same number and had the same experience.  Weird.  I may go on to the donot call website and report them.  I always report people who call me soliciting because my numbers are registered on the donotcall list.

Recvd call on my cell..didn't answer it ... I didn't know the number. They hung up but when I called it from my wk phone (outbound line only) it said It was a survey but the survey had expired!? If I had registered my phone with the 800-DO NOT CALL...how is this happening?

Just received a call from this number (213-550-3033) for the first time. I was speaking on the phone when the call came in and so I wrote down the number to check after I was done with my phone conversation. Since the line was in use, my voice mail did not pick up, thankfully. I thought it was probably a robo call because I am getting several a day and do not answer if I do not recognize the name or number calling. I, too am listed on the Do No Call list but this list seems to be a joke and not effective in the least, as most things in Washington DC are! I have found that, if you answer the call, even though no one is there, the call is merely recording that a live person lives at that number and those 'live numbers' are sold to other robo callers so that you will most probably be called by several different phone banks. If you return the call from your phone, that is the same as verifying that a live person is at that number. As frustrating as it seems, the best way to deal with thiese types of calls is to check the number and name and if you do not recognize it, do not answer....unless you have a very loud police whistle and are fortunate enough to get a live person on the other end. I am going to start answering, pushing the prompt yo talk to a live person and trying to cause some auditory problems for whoever dares to call me.I think that is probnably the only way to insure that my number is dropped from a robo call bank!

I opted out. This looks like the same number I have received hangup calls from in the past.

I get calls from this number every single day.  I don't ever answer, hoping they will stop calling.  Right now at least 4 'scam/spam' call my cell phone.  I am on the do not call list, but it doesn't seem to matter.  Is there something I can do other than call my cell phone provider and put blocks on these numbers?

I agree with mtf.  They're most probably just fishing for live numbers and everytime a person answers the phone or presses #1 or #3 to stop receiving the calls they are actually saying "yes" somebody owns this number and it's a live number.  They don't seem to be selling anything in particular to the caller but like mtf said they're probabling selling your number to more of these crooked scammers.  Unfortunately answering machines also lets them know that it's a live number even if you don't pickup.  The government needs to legislate spoofing technology.  By making it legal it's impossible to catch these jag offs because it makes them untraceable.

I started receiving calls on my cell phone from (213) 550-3033.  I read all the reports on the internet about this number, so I didn’t answer it.  I have only recently started receiving unknown calls on my cell the last 3 weeks, which makes me believe my phone number got onto some scam artist list.  I am posting the other telephone numbers below in case there is some connection with these numbers and maybe some of you have been receiving calls from these as well:
