Yikes- someone with a heavy foreign accent claimed my computer has been sending in error messages to Microsoft.  He told me to go into the My Computer folder and look at the error messages and to delete them.  Of course they would not delete so then he wanted me to go to www.ammyy.com where he could remotely remove the error messages.  Thats when I hung up!!!!

They called today, paused, said Mr. L*****, I said yes, they hung up. Looks like a scam but I have no idea why unless they were just verifying that this was the right last name. Checked the caller ID and it gave me the number 213-797-3000 which is from LA, California. So far that's all I got. I did receive another phone call about 2 or 3 months ago with about the same situation but I did not keep track of the number to connect the two. Hope this is all it is and it doesn't go any further.

I got a call from this same person on Sunday and when he said he was from Windows Support, I said wrong number and he yelled "Do you have a computer?!" That was when I hung up and went back to sleep.  They must think Alaskans are backward.

They are identity thieves

Kept calling back after I asked him not to call. Keeps going on and on about windows, computers, virus, and my company. Couldn't understand him very well, but I could tell it was a scam. Yep, it's "Alaska" week for these thieves.

They keep calling me and I finally picked up... Same heavy accent that everyone else has reported.
Same windows scam.
Told him to go away.
We will see what happens next....

Same here.  Told me that I had viruses sending messages to MS support.  Wish I good send him a gift!

Man with an Indian accent called and told me he was from Windows. He said I had error messages popping up, and he wanted to show me how to fix them. Hung up when I acted like I was too busy to do that.

They also called the other day early in the morning, but no one picked up that time. I'm another one from Alaska.

Yep it is definitely AK week.  I just got a call from these fools too.  Didnt recognize the number so I didnt answer.  Got the same recorded womans voice saying "Goodbye".

I am Also in Alaska, recieved another call from (213) 797-3000 said they were from mirco soft wanted me to get on my computor saying it was full of viruses, thanked him and hung up he called right back and said we had to fix it now or I would be shut down. I hung up. They have called here about a dozen times and at all hours.

just got a call in alaska also claiming that there are reports of 500 or more error messages from my computer, asking if my computer is on and then telling me to go to computer and log onto internet explorer. told him i don't use internet explorer and don't believe there's anything wrong and said i was hanging up. he called again and my husband answered and just said "we don't believe this is a genuine call." next time we won't answer. thank goodness for caller id.

It was a man that called. He said I had a major virus on my computer he could help me fix. He kept telling me he was from "windows support group. I told him I would not give him any info. He told me to check them out on www.windowssupportgroup.info. When I tried to go to the site I got an error message.

Got a phone call on my cell phone from 213-797-3000, but when I tried to answer, phone disconnected.  In AK too.  Call came in at 4:38 pm.  Will make sure I don't answer from this number in the future.

this number calls at least three times a week and i am sick of it because they won't answer when we pick up the receiver.

Regular calls received during the daytime in Alaska from 213-797-3000 .  I  do not answer and there is never a msg left.

Called didn't leave a message. But number was in ID.
