Somehow this number added itself to my contacts as VOICEMAIL the business is located in Texas

Attached to phone as AT&T

Added itself to my recent history and contact. I have no idea who or what it is. Obviously scam of some sort.

This number has embedded to my cellphone as "Voicemail" and appears to be a Texas number.  I live in Kansas!

Said I a new voicemail, but I have my own voice mail box.  Didn't dial it.

Why does this number keep appearing on my phone? I have blocked it and tried to delete it, but it continues to show up on my phone.  Are they spying on what I do on my phone?
Is there any way to stop them?

You seem to be extremely paranoid. I would suggest that you see someone who can treat you for that. Phone number appear on your phone because someone called you not by magic. Blocking does not prevent them from calling you. Too bad you never read the directions on your call blocker.

I got the same call saying AT&T. Showed up on my screen as a little cassette pic but no message in left on voice mail.  I tapped it and it started saying it wanted me to enter my code number which I  do  have with AT&T. I just hung up.  So now in the last week they have done this 4 times.  I am on the line with AT&T  as to why Active Armor doesn't block it.  AT&T says the number shows Texas but really coming from the Philippines..  AT&T is trying to figure a way to block it as I am typing this message. IT IS A VPN NUMBER. DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFO.  IF YOU SEE IT  ON YOUR PHONE JUST DELETE IT.

I just answered this call this morning and it was the sound of a massive explosion and nothing else? Who knows? may its a political threat???

Check the icon. These calls are outbound. This is the actual phone number it dials when you check your voice mail. No need to be alarmed.

this number showed up on my bill and I have never called this number and do not know any one in Texas that I would call.

When you press & hold "1" to access your voicemail, this is one of the valid Voicemail Access numbers that Consumer Cellular (and possibly other providers?) uses. Recently, after an issue with our phone ("call failed") the voicemail access number automatically changed to this one. It has the same recorded prompts and responses as the previous number but with a different voice. I directly called the previous number and it said: "Your voicemail is lost; please contact your system manager"  I also wondered if it may be a hack or scam, so I called Consumer Cellular Customer Service and confirmed that it is a valid number; the receptionist reset our voicemail & instructed to power down, power back up; press & hold "1" to set up our voicemail anew.

We live in Naples,FL.  We are from GA and we still have GA cell numbers.  Our voicemail service location as always been a 678 number, now it is 214, Texas.  My voicemail has completely changed.
We have called AT & T and they seem not to understand..  I think this is a scam company.

AT & T told us this morning that we have been assigned this number for our voice mail service location even though we have a GA cell phone number and the 214 number is in Texas. Makes no sense. Previously the voicemail service location was  GA number.
They could not tell us why it just changed 2 days ago but we have had this GA number for over 20 years.
