I received that same call within the last half hour. They are calling from India, not anywhere in the United States. I traced the call, and they also broke the "cloaking" law, along with how many other federal laws. Technically, "cloaking" a number is not supposed to be used by even legitimate debt collectors, and NO telemarketer is allowed in any respect to use it. However, seems that these pricks from India, when the numbers are traced back to their location, are able to do it and get away with it. My Caller ID said "McKinnley, Texas".

(214) 491-5780 is the number (one of the many numbers that they use) that showed up on my cell phone. Simplest way, besides the website http://whatismyipaddress.com ( it shows your IP address, and also traces the IP address from the sender, back to the sender's location). It's a free site, and I use it frequently when I get Indian-accented calls. Appears that even for so-called job offer calls from what appears to be local phone numbers is actually coming from India, Philippines, etc...but mainly from India.

They claim to be some law firm, and like the other complaining customers have said, they were rude, nasty, threatening, elusive, etc. I didn't catch the name, as the Indian-accented prick that threatened me with this and that about a payday loan and three felonies pending against me talked too fast to even catch the name of this so-called "firm".

I totally agree with you, Boyd. I got that same exact call, and traced that number to an India location. Here's my experience and some tips to help you and others out there with hopefully validating and putting an end to all this mess. It's bad enough that our "government" gives money, resources and even our jobs to these "people", and this is the thanks we get? Anyways, it's clear that we're all pretty pissed about this, and we have every right to be. Best wishes, to us all.

They call me say I received a payday loan in amount of $500, threaten to come to my job or home and pick me up and arrest me for fraud this is ridiculous they need to be stopped

Received a call this morning from 'Dallas' telling me I owed 600+ for a payday loan that I had authorized. I have only had a payday loan once in my life and I called that company directly and they told me that they would never do anything like that and that this commonly happens and sometimes people will pay them. All I know is that whoever this is had an Indian accent and threatened to come to my place of employment on Friday and arrest me. They knew all of my information. Even my SS#! How can I be secure with anything when they have all of my info??

Big Time Scam! They said they were a Law Office. I asked the name… Dallas???  Dallas what I asked. Dallas Law office.  So I asked for a business address.  Dallas TX they said. lol Seriously?  They said have your Attorney contact immediately. So I asked…  What does this pertain to?  You have him contact me immediately… He said…    I do have an attorney…  Michael Thompson was this callers name… Heavy middle eastern accent…   So I told him this is a scam & he will be reported… I also will have my lawyer check into this garbage… His reply to me was… Let me tell you something. Ok I replied.  [***] You [***]! he said and hung up… hahahaha… Nice Law office!  “Do Not Fall For This Crap”  Report Immediately… One last thing I have no loan debit.
