They keep calling ! Is this spam?

Called on my text app number. Weird

I answered and spoke to a woman who listed a credit card company I had never even heard of before and said they were erasing all the interest from the account and wanted only $500 from me. I asked again her agency name and the original creditor and told her I had my credit report up and she was no where listed ( she honestly wasn't and I had it pulled to do my yearly check the first week of jan). She then said it was an account written off in 2007 and past statue of limitations but it was still best I pay them in full today. If it's been written off on my taxes in 2007 as they say ( and I don't know since I can't easily locate my taxes from 2007) then they were considered paid when I paid the debt to the irs that year. Very strange company, wanted to send only emails not written letters etc. I would not trust to send them money esp if what they say is true and the original creditor considers it paid.

They dont leave messages...But when I cal back get a recruiting hotline..I left a message to NOT call back!

This number, one that comes up as "unavailable", one that comes up as COLLEGE4U, and more are all from a company trying to get  you to get private student loans.  

They told me they were from fresno

Called and wanted contact info for my minor child.  No way.  Said they represented York College.

What's wrong with writing "college bound"?!

This is not the collection agency someone earlier mentioned.  And there is no "statute of limitations" on student loans; they are never forgiven nor can you clear them with bankruptcy so either that person put his comments on the wrong number or dialed the wrong number.

This number is a college recruiting agency and they don't happen to call from the city of the school; I don't know that they are actually "Ruffalo CODY" who has national offices (in Iowa) which are contracted to make the calls for each college or university, but they are the same type of private college financing and recruiting business.

These people (and Ruffalo CODY at 888-356-2296) are calling because my teenage son said "Yes, I'd be interested in going to college in [x] Hawaii   [X] Oregon  [X] Washington" during some college prep testing at his high school.  However, I am not interested in sending my son to any of those places so he can pay for it himself or go here, locally.

Our kids are overriding our DNC listing by "inviting" them to call.  (sort of like inviting vampires into your home)

A lot of colleges hire this outfit, but I assume it's on the level. They are paid to recruit for admissions. We've gotten calls from this number on behalf of at least four different schools, including University of Delaware and St. Bonaventure. I prefer it when the school has actual students or alumni call, at least then your child can ask about the school. These calls are kind of annoying, but it is also flattering that they are recruiting your kid. I'm sure if we asked, they'd stop calling. I don't imagine the schools would want to antagonize tuition-paying parents.

You're right. These guys are recruiters for various schools. Our call was from a catholic university in New Jersey. I asked to email instead of calling going forward. It's over now.

Caller ID said COLLEGE ADMISSION.  I have college age kids who just took ACT and SAT.

Got a call from this number but I didn't pick up. No message was left by them.

Just reported them to the FCC because I did ask politely for them to quit calling and next night same thing. Next night same thing. Etc... I am sick of it. My child is 3 and not a genius even if I like to think so so he wont be heading to college any time soon. They wait until jist before 9 PM to call and usually wake him up after i have gotten him down. My # is not listed and I do not give it out (i give out my cell #) so i think someone who wanted to mess with us gave out our number but after asking 10 times for them to stop bothering me, i filed a report with the fcc and I encourage you all to do the same.

Just got this call . guess it's from the college... Which I'm not interested in to be honest.

Called about a minor child in my home and it is being investigated!
