Just received a call from 216-206-6896 and he said she had won a $100 gift to Walmart and other stores but he asked for a credit card to pay $9.00 for shipping costs and told she had to be 18 and over and they ask for birthdate

Its probably that scam that was just in the news... if you call the number back, you get charged a huge fee plus $10 a min.  Of course you won't know until you get your phone bill.  Hmmm...I wonder if you can call it from a payphone? I'm curious.

they didnt leave a message, i dont answer calls from people not on friends list so no clue who it is but they have called several times in the past. all started when i went on rent2own.com

1 ring (if even) then they hung up, and no message.  I wonder if it's one of those calls that supposedly charge you if you call them back to see who they are?  I never call them back, I just look them up here.....

I got an email at work advising about these type of phone calls. They only ring, no vm, then you call back, someone answer and put you on hold and they charge you $9/minute through your mobile provider.
Don't call back. That's what they are looking for.

Called me just a few minutes ago. Barely rang for a second. No message and will not be calling it back. Looks like a scammer from here.
