It is in spanish and says that your phone number won a prize.
I know they are getting it from Craigslist, just posted something there!!!

These people are rude and very disrespectful. I don't know what we can do, but it's getting out of hand. Let's do something about this one guys!

This 217-999-6868 number called me on my cell phone and called my carrier. Damian from AT&T GoPhone said that it is from a wireless carrier called Frontier Rochester Illuminet and their customer service number is 1-800-921-8101. Joyce, a customer service represenitive at Frontier Rochester Illuminet suggested I report it to my local police. I preferred to report it to the FCC at thier website: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do?form_page=1088G. After you fill out the form, they will give you a confirmation # that you can follow up on. If enough people file a complaint, these people have a greater chance of being shut down and less the chance of some elderly or disabled person being the victim of ideninity theft or having thier bank accounts drained.

They called me on my cell phone. A Spanish speaking representative told me that I was chosen to win prize due to my credit cards (Luckily I speak Spanish). This concerned me because I thought that my Credit Card companies had given this company my information. To some elderly or disabled people, this would have sounded legit (of course I'm referring to 217-999-6868) When I began to question the legitimacy the company, she told me that I am a very "ignorant" person. All I was doing is asking questions.

Are they even in the United States???

Be careful when questioning them. They will get very angry and get very personal.
Thanks again for the info PSB. I'm going to follow up. Let's all do the same. The reason these types of companies get away with these things is because people never do anything about them.

Ditto to all of the above, but they called TWICE, the second time the vibrating phone woke me up. Grrr.

I've got this call several times. Answered today and it is a spanish recording. Says 2 collect ur money press 1. Or something 2 that effect. I understand a little. U then get a mans voice mail which is full. Any answers yet?

Got same call twice this morning at 830 am and 845 am pst. Didn't answer. No voicemail.

hey I just got a call from this number too. didn't pick up..then check this website and found out nothing special. just another spanish telemarketers...may be try to scam other new comer.

That's odd, because the 217 area code is farther south than that. I live in Urbana, IL (University of Illinois) and that's the area code I live in. I have no idea who or what called us from this number though...

They don't leave voicemail but when I call back it says the

Just got this call. I never answer numbers i am not familiar with. Left a blank vm so I googled the number and it brought me here. On At&t.
