received a call, but when answered heard a quick tone like a number was dialed.  no response

Seems like a left wing client hired them to get feedback on Obama. They seemed to be product testing some of his statements and asked me to rate them 1-10. They also asked a whole set of questions to which I had to agree / disagree either alone or strongly.  At the end of the call they ask your first name and to verify they called you at the number they called you at.

they asked about Noboma; i kept telling them was i would never vote for a person that has no respect for the Americans (does not salute our flag); i had family members die in every war this great country has been in and will only support those that support it.

From our experience and the experience of the other posters, sounds like a hired-hack research outfit -- today's caller (after an incredibly long pregnant pause) wanted my husband's (he was asked for by name, I guess *mine* didn't count) opinion about "hotel stays". Probably more annoying than harmful, but too many of these "market research" folk (a) have a sales pitch at the end, (b) keep you on the line answering questions for an absurdly long period of time (I get antsy at the 10-minute mark), (c) both.

He told the caller he wasn't interested -- we'll see how long it takes before they call again.

Follow-up: Scarcely 48 hours later, THEY'RE BAAAACK! Nobody answered, nobody left a message. Suffice it to say nobody will be answering in the future, either.

I have an unlisted number and am on the do not call list but still they have called from number 231-224-2034 RESEARCH CENTER everyday for the last week or so.  I answered a few times and asked them not to call again, but the calls do not stop. Why are these people allowed to harass us.  We need to create a law to stop this.

A better way to deal with survey companies:  mess up their results.  Their samples are most vulnerable to skewing at the "edge" cases.  So tell them yu are a 75 year old black man who makes $300,000 a year.  Then vary your answers wildly.

If enough people do this, it will severely damage the ability of these companies to do business.

I got received two call today - I didn't pick up the phone as I try to make it a practice not to pick up the phone to numbers I don't know (they can leave a message). In this case they didn't leave a message - so to those who get this call from 231-224-2034, simply don't pick up. Its Sunday and I don't want to be bothered especially if its for a survey like other post below say.

They keep calling repeatedly and will not leave a message. It is a live person calling up to this point because I here some background noise in my answering machine recording.

They keep calling my fax number! That is annoying.

These guys are annoying call me 6 times a day- is there something we can do about it?

Called twice in 30 minutes

The caller is supposedly doing some political research, but asked bunch of unrelated questions.  Now I'm getting more of these survey calls.  I recommend not answering them at all.  The caller id came up as "research center".

231-224-2034 is www.mwrcenter.com lady hung up on me when I asked to be added to do not call list - I called the contact number 208.232.1818 then hit 8 and got a human re: DNC

I had the same call and it came up as "research center" on my caller ID. Hereis their website: http://www.mwrcenter.com/ .  I went to their contact link and sent an email asking them to remove my number from their list.

Please do not call this number at all......1-425-391-8336. I will not answer and it is a waste of time. Yours and mine.

Next time they call, tell them they got the wrong number. Trust me it works!

Calls dailey..sometimes 3 or 4 times within the hour.
Bunch of losers

calls many times throughout the day, even at night.  I answered one time, they asked for someone who was not home.  I asked if they want to leave a message, then the person just hung up.  Then I know they are up to no good, id shows up as "Research Center".  Annoying !

Received calls from this number x2 within 5 minutes-no messages-calls were to a new cell phone number only 1 week old
