- Tara Tipton| 1 replySome sort of scam call
- Robyn| 2 repliesA company called from 234-567-7890 saying they were ZTech Solutions and a person who said he was Boris Norman claims they work with Microsoft; they wanted to take control of my computer and download a bunch of software including Malwarebites for a mere $400.00 and that this would solve any computer problems I might run into even better than McAfee and Norton. I had a funny feeling about them and didn’t follow through. Other numbers they have are 210-234-4604 and 845-440-1804
- mrg replies to Robynthe same company called me the week of 8/1/11 and are still calling from number +011 asking for 200.00 to clear my error n warning off my computer

When combined let you send untraceable phone messages (text converted to voice) to these companies that are bothering you. This is not spam. I don't work for anyone. This is a illegitimate way to even the odds.- Caller: Annoying

- CariIt is a scam....you NEVER EVER let someon that randomly calls you and you don't know who they are take over your computer....ever. If you have a problem take it to a reputable place that has been in business with a store front. Best Buy has a department for fixing computers.

- Cari replies to Tara TiptonYes it is a scam.....
- RickI have received calls from this number claiming that they are "Microsoft" and that I purchased some service from them, paid them and I am entitled to a refund and wanted to know if I am in front of my computer so that I can connect with them and complete a form to receive my refund. Prior to this they were calling form another number: 888-888-8888. These people are very persistent to say the least.
Calls rec'd as follows: from 888-888-8888 11/28 (2) calls 11/27 (2) calls
RESTRICTED NUMBER 11/27 (4) calls 11/30 (3) calls
234-567-7890 11/30
The callers are all of Indian descent (with American names) as in East Indians, (calling from India/ point of origin) the calls are at a point of harassment now and come at all times of the day evening or morning. Who else can I report this to? it is clearly a scam to gain access to your computer and information. They have also claimed to be "Windows" and "Earthlink" calling and that they have detected viruses and computer running issues and want to correct the problem but need access to my computer.- Caller: Microsoft
- UpALLNite| 1 replyYep! It's a scam. You can download and run MalwareBytes for free. Which I highly recommend if you think you have a virus. These people want $400 for this!!?? You can just about get a brand new laptop these days for $400 bucks if you shop hard enough.
- Nan replies to UpALLNiteThere was probably no virus in the first place. This is the longest running scam on here. The people who 'phone know nothing about our computers. They don't know which version of Windows, if any, we run, or even if we run Windows at all. They want remote access so that they can install spyware/malware to steal personal information like bank details and passwords. When they ask for money it is only after they have got access because they know most people will refuse to pay and hang up. By then, it's too late and the damage has been done. There is a warning on the Microsoft website about this scam and it states quite clearly that neither Microsoft, nor its partners, would every 'phon individuals. It would be a breach of their privacy rules.
- kathyScammer keeps calling. First few times the number left was 9 digits long

- KenThis number called me tonight 11/17/2014 as I was getting in my van at a store....A man with an Indian accent asked me if my name was Ken...I said yes it is and then he hung up on me...I tried to call the number back but Verizon said the number is no longer available or out of service......What the hell do WE TAX PAYERS PAY FOR THE F.B.I. AND C.I.A. AND F.T.A. AND HOMELAND SECURITY .........These people are terrorists and extortionists plain and simple....
- Caller: Don't know

- Christine BaileyThey tell you that there is a problem with your computer. When asked to be removed from the calling list, they insist on proving the problem.
- MaryI love messing with these SCAMMERS from INDIA. I play dumb, let them rattle on, make them explain what to type in the Run field 10 times, I put them on hold a couple times, fold my laundry, then a half hour later I finally say, "wow, we've been on the phone for 30 minutes, right?", "well, that 30 minutes you weren't scamming someone else, so my good deed of the day is done." They usually start swearing at that point. YOU EFFING BIT*H! I know, I'm whacked, but I get a good laugh out of it.
