Call to my land-line today, at 10:30 Pacific, from "Zyan", claiming to be from TELUS promotions, saying that as a loyal customer & senior who always pays on time, that TELUS will reduce my monthly bill ($140 plus taxes) to $93.58 (including taxes).
He also offered to switch me from my cell-phone provider to TELUS Mobility, at a rate of $21 per month. That switch would also include a brand-new iPhone 17 Pro (retail $1599) with "unlimited data" per month, and a free three-year subscription to NETFLIX.

He said that my current payment method (direct-debit from my chequing account) would not change, but that he NEEDED my VISA credit-card details to "verify" the monthly transaction.

However:
1. I am NOT a customer of TELUS
2. I have a very inexpensive cell-phone provider that meets my needs
3. I do NOT have any VISA credit-card
4. I do NOT give my credit-card information to anybody who cold-calls me.

So, I was talking to a SCAMMER, not a real employee of TELUS promotions.

I was able to "waste" over 20 minutes of his time, because he could not contact somebody more gullible that me during that time.

I was called numerous times starting Saturday claiming to be a Telus employee  saying that as a loyal customer  I would get a new cell phone and pymt would be 71/month. I paid 194.94 for this and realized I was screwed out of that money. As it was not a Telus employee.
