I just received a call from this number. It sounded like a child around 11 or 12 years old, most likely a girl, asking me "Who's this?" I, in return, explained that they called me so they need to introduce to me who they are first. They girl then told me that someone called her from my number and she wanted to know who it was. I apologized, explaining that if her number was called from my phone, it was an accident. After hanging up, I immediately checked my call log and low and behold, no call was placed to this number!

If you respond on Craigslist to a job AND send your resume, you are inviting this. I walked right into this scan at the beginning, giving all my cell phone, address, personal data.  I wasn't asked about bank numbers, etc.  But, I was pretty upset that that got my resume. After that, I challenged them to call me and they actually did! The next call I got from them, a few minutes later, was Craigslist giving me an account number. I believe they were trying to set up an account using my address/phone/call.  So, bottom line, when you answer an ad for a job on Craigslist, do yourself a favor, kindly word a reply by saying that you apologize in advance, but there have been scams on CList and you would like to verify their ad with website, email with their company name in it, etc.  I did a test and sent out 17 of these "can you please verify" type responses and only 25% got back to me. Most likely, a lot of the others just got hammered with resumes and did not want to do the courtesy of responding.  Watch out for anything (Work from home) - that is classic for these guys to get to you. I learned something quite basic today, never send a resume unless you know they're legit. It's not like it had much on it anyway - just address, cell, etc.

called back to back 4 times. did not answer

I just got a call from a girl. I think this is a calling card number of some sorts.

I got a call from this number just now on my mobile phone and when I answered they just hung up. I called back from my work line I got a message like this .

The Magic Jack user requires that you must have called them from a phone that was been called previously. In order for the Magic Jack user to take your call you must let them know to accept your call from this number.

Really weird. I'm not calling back this number.

Just got a call from this number on my cell phone about an hour ago. I didn't answer but called back since I know someone who recently moved to Florida (where caller id said the call was from). Didn't get an answer but someone called me back to just say "Hello" about 5x before I hung up. When I called back a few minutes later just to bug them, it said that the Magic Jack user wasn't available. I had something tell me to check my phone records and I found that this is the same idiot who called me several times in a row on Thanksgiving '12. Just sounded like a drunk person with the wrong number so I didn't think anything of it.

My question is has anyone tried to contact Magic Jack and get this person blocked from their service? If not, I'm going to see what happens.

Just got a call from this same number and it was my e-commerce husband

Got the call twice today. Never answered it.

This guy does look german if it's the same one. He's been trying to sweep me off my feet and asked me to put $400 on a green dot card for him. What kind of fool falls for a bunch of tender sweet words and gives a stranger money?  Not me that's for sure. He's got a lot of scams going on. He's sooo sucessfull but wants me to send him money?  Really???  hahahaaa

Me too! He/she or whoever it is called me 2x today.

Call from this #. I never answer if I don't know who it is. Didn't leave a message.

I received a number of calls from this #, and another # 7248975005, between 3:30am and 3:45am, no one ever says anything I just hear back ground noise, I just want it to stop.

got a call from this number while at work. no message. called, because i have family in florida and we just recently had a series of deaths and series illness so i was concerned - got the magic jack message when i called and it wouldn't go through, so i knew it wasn't my family unless they had borrowed someones magic jack service. then, they proceeded to call another 15 times between noon and 2pm, and the one time i DID answer to ask them to stop bothering me someone just screamed into the phone and hung up. whatever this is is [***] and damn near got me in trouble at work - my phone was blowing up and the ONLY reason i have it on while i'm at work is because of the current situation with my sick family in case there is an emergency requiring me to rush back home to help out.

Another scam he is trying to run with is selling puppies on Craigslist .  We didn't go far enough to see how he would do it. But it had something to do with sending it by a pet agency . Got Sketchy real quick

Hello,

I just enabled my new Magic Jack and this is the number they assigned me.  So whoever had it before should no longer have it (hopefully).  It's not 100% clear but they say when I dial out each person I call may see a different number and when I tried it by calling another of my own lines, this is the number that shows up.  SO.... unless they use many outgoing numbers randomly and any of the magic jack lines can be using the same outgoing numbers, I now have it and no one will get any nuisance calls!
