I think it's kinda obvious now after reading these comments, I have to believe they are screening for a specific target group, ie. the elderly, teens, broken english, etc.
If they don't hear a specific type of target they are after, they simply don't go through with their spiel.

They have called several times this week, always the same if I answer silence, if the vociemail kicks in NO message. Always shows on caller ID AVALON 239-599-3004

Calls day after day with no message and no voice

No one there.  I am on the opt-out list, do not call list, etc.......still get this junk mail, and now calls.  What is up with that?

Constant calls, Is showing as Fort Myers, FL Since only one person calls me from Florida I know this is a scam, telemarketer or something I don't want... I have never answered and will never answer.

Same here - caller ID says Avalon with no messsage. I wish I knew how to use an automatic dialer -- I'd have tons of fun with it *evil grin*

This number keeps calling every day!!  No message.  Very annoying.

They call our number daily. Silence at the other end and when I call the number back, I get a busy signal. Caller ID says it is Avalon. The only thing I have found out is that it is a land line in Ft Meyers, FL

Called us ~09:30 EDT 16Aug2011 but left no message.

I get as many as six calls a day from this number -- no messages, hangups when I answer.  AT&T says they can't help because they are not the carrier.  The landline number originates from North Fort Myers Florida.  I contacted Lee County Sheriff's Department, and they said they can't trace the number without a court order (!), and no one would feel it important enough to investigate.  I even invested in a "membership" in a service that traces numbers, and they had to refund my money because they couldn't identify who owns the number.

PLEASE CONTACT THE FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AT myfloridalegal.com, SELECT "CONSUMER PROTECTION", AND FILE A COMPLAINT.  IF I LIVED ALONE, AND DIDN'T KNOW THESE CALLS WERE ORIGINATING FROM FLORIDA, I WOULD BE FRIGHTENED THAT SOMEONE WAS CHECKING TO SEE IF I WERE HOME TO ORGANIZE A BURGLARY.  

As it is, there must be hundreds -- possibly thousands -- of us who are receiving these calls, and we are only going to get help if all of us demand assistance with this. Please file a complaint.

This number calls my mother 2-3 times a day. Doesn't say anything. Very annoying. Stop calling her. And be very glad you're not close or I'd come over and make you stop personally.
