- PamEven when I told him that I was not on a windows platform he still said I could get hacked. I told him that since he knew everything he could put it all in writing and mail it to me thru the post office.
- Tired of Indian scamsCalls me about my windows computer. Told him " we don't have computers...we don't believe in them...they are the DEVIL!" He hesitantly asks...you don't HAVE a COMPUTER? Why don't you have a computer. What a dumb***..lol!

- LOBSTAMOOSEThis number calls 4 to 5 times a day and I answer it every time. They are rude, call you names and even tell you to shuddup. I have asked them every time not to call...but they call me an idiot, a jerk, stupid and it goes on and on. I too wish there was something one could do, but alas, I suppose we must all deal with it.
- PhilI love these types of calls. After they tell you that your computer is infected, ask them what your IP is since they would have to have this info to know in the first place. They will become defensive and dumbfounded but continue to play along saying that they cannot disclose that information. Listen to their instructions, tell them you've done what they've asked and then just wait. Make sure you don't do anything they tell you to do, just tell them you've done it. After they become extremely frustrated and often times angry, pretend that you're computer illiterate and need more help. It's also fun to tell them you're watching porn and then make a few long grunting noises during the conversation. I also pretend to hock up a loogie and spit it out, sometimes several times during the conversation. Eventually they give up or you can simply tell them you've just scammed them out of their time and now you're going to block their calls.

- VonwolfI got two hang up calls from this number today on my voice mail. I blocked my number and called back and got a recording that my call could not be completed and to call back later. After reading the posts in here, I know who is doing this. It is former employees for an anti virus company, staffed by Indians only. They work out of their cattle barn, or just sitting on the street. It is very easy for them to gain access to your computer remotely if you give them any information. And no, the FCC will not protect you. I think these people troll the Federal and State do not call lists for victims. The best advice I can give is to tell them your computer has a fried hard drive and you are shopping for a new computer. Tell them the IT at your place of work is helping you pick one out. This will back them off quickly if they think someone experienced in computer science could trace them and file several sanctions against them. Also, if you have a service like Verizon, you can block their number so your phone will not ring or accept their call. The only problem with that is they probably have multiple numbers. Usually if I keep blocking multiple numbers, they move on to the next person. They are calling at this very moment. They just hung up. Three calls in two hours...I wish they would try to speak to me.
- WiserblondHave received a few calls from this number but am really upset at the latest call which occurred at 11:59PM last night, awakening my husband and I. I answered and I heard a computer voice say "thank you" and it hung up.
- AnonymAnswered the call. Guy said his name was"Jack with Microsoft windows" and yes he had an Indian accent. Told him I already have someone who services my computer and that I am on the Federal no call list and not to call back and hung the phone up on him. What good is a DNC list if these jackwads still get through to you??
- Caller: Claims to be with Microsoft
- Joe AyersCalled an called me by name but nothing else
- WisconsinI received a call from this number. I answered it. The person on the other end said my computer was putting out bad information to the web and he would help me fix it. I said, I need to know the I.P. address of the computer so that I make sure I "repair" the right computer. He hung up.
- Caller: NAME NOT FOUND
- jimmie57They are calling me every day now and telling me I have a problem with my computer. I tell that it can not be since I do not own a computer. They hang up. I have had enough of them and adding them to my callers that are blocked in my phone.
- Caller: Name not found
- AnonThey call repeatedly. I string them along then put them on the speaker and mute the phone. They claim to be windows support but it is all a scam. What a shame that no one will prosecute them.

- CathyYep. Got a call from this number today. Same as all the others described on this page. When he said to open my computer...bla bla bla....I just said NO and hung up. I now know what number to lay on the number symbol should they call again.
- Caller: Supposably a Microsoft tech
- CathyJust looked up the area code only. Belongs to Guinea-Bissau. Its off the coast of Africa.
- waneI get called constantly by a computer service claiming that my computer is dumping a virus on the Internet. The phone number above is just one of many they use. They once claimed to be Windows service.
- MogilbFor those who believe that slamming the phone down, using a shrill whistle, shouting, etc., you can keep believing that but it's useless; since 99% of these boiler-room operations originate from some other country (in this case, usually India) are using spoofed numbers, reporting to the DNC folks does little if any good toward stopping them!
A smart person will NEVER allow access to your computer by anyone you didn't initiate the contact with; I've received so many calls from these people, it's almost a ho-hum type of thing, but on a couple of occasions I have played along just for my amusement on a boring day, and lead them up to making them think I'm ready....then inform them that I've been playing along....to which they demonstrate that in spite of their poor English, they DO know a few curse words!!!! On another occasion, I played along up until the very end, then told them I was on a Macintosh; that drove the guy nuts......(some times they will say, that it doesn't matter, Microsoft can fix Macintosh problems....that tells you that without a script, they have no idea what they're talking about!
I generally don't answer calls from those numbers I don't recognize, but for peace of mind, if you do answer the call and get these people live, just hang up!- Caller: Unknown name
