The package that they sent me, I wrote refused on the front and mailed it right back to them.  This has been about 6 months ago and the phone calls and cards keep arriving.I have caller ID so it isn't answered.

This company has been calling my elderly mother for 10 years.  She has been buying such things as garbage bags and other household items for an ungodly amount of money.  When I started to question the legitimacy of their company, they became pretty hostile and defensive.  They definitely do not want to give out any names.  When I asked to speak with a manager or someone in charge, I was referred to a phone number for some industrial company.  The lady at this industrial company laughed and said she gets calls for this handicapped organization all the time. I too want to report them to the BBB but have no idea where they are or really anything much about them.  All I know is nothing about them feels right.

They claim to be calling on behalf of handicapped and disabled workers. Well, I am handicapped and disabled and getting to the phone is a bear. I don't have any money for them and their shabby trash bags - yes, before I retired I fell for the scam. Now I want them to stop calling me several times a day.

I have received calls from both AHDW and DHWA, acronym very similar.  DHWA called me several days ago and informed me that we did not pay for some garbage bags from 2009. They want payment and late fees/interest. Told them it won't happen.
Today I received a call from AHDW and asked to buy bags for $90. I informed the caller that I'm being sued by them for non-payment. Hung up. Numbers I have are 248-292-0871 and 248-292-0862. Very shady operations. Will notify the FCC of these people. Anyone can lodge a complaint on line.

LOL.  I just got a ca;ll from this organization...the number was blocked, but I know this is who it was.  The man identified the organization & as I always do with telemarketers I politely let him know that I was not interested in making a donation.  He got irate & said they do not accept donations, they work for a living by selling products.  I said, "Well, I do not want to buy anything, then."  I still can't believe his reply (HA!):  He said, "Well do you want to go wipe your a$$?  Why don't you go wipe your a$$, then"  and he hung up on me.

At first I was angry that someone so profane had invaded my space...and then a little guilty that I had unintentionally offended a handicapped person who was just trying to make some money...but then I realized that a person with that sense of entitlement to call me even though I am on the "do not call list"  is not the type of person I want to give any money to.  I hope this means they won't be calling back.

Worst Company and boss, Mr. Adli, in world to work for. Managers And Adli treat employees like [***]. Co. is a TOTAL SCAM !  Adli is a multi-millionaire because he pockets NEARLY ALL MONEY raised by the lying telemarketers. BBB should throw Mr. Adli in Jail.

I  have been harassed about lightbulbs since the summer!  I thought I was going to recieve info on donating money to the AHDW but instead recieved not 1 but 2 sets of lightbulbs w/a bill for about $100.00. I tried to send them back and in fact have not even opened the second box or used any of them.  We are still being hounded but I have no intention of paying this bill for a scam.  Also, the people who call are very rude, unprofessional and  work from the same script as if this hasnt been going on for months.

HDWA, or A.H.D.W. selling towels.  Said they hadn't called me in 3 yrs.  I had, over that time, according to them, sent $140.  Some familiar talk about military, holidays, etc.  Some mention of a free flag.  Sociable fellow hangs up and woman calls back.  Not a donation.  Sale for handicapped she says.  $40 for a towel.  Man previously indicated that many give $600 or $700.  Number is (586) 754-4429.  Hdwa located in Center Line, MI.  "Now hiring" on window.  Sounds like BS.  Beware.

It is BS! I used to work there for a short time. They have been sued in Iowa and MA fir false accusations fraud, etc.. I worked at the Dearborn office. When I first started they asked for me to read from a script. But as I paid attention to my co-workers whom had been with the organization for many years, they were flat out saying that they were handicapped and weren't. They would use sob story pitches. There are handicap employees, but these 2 weren't. The manager tells you in order for you too keep your job, you have to sell so much a day. Misty of the people working there are handicap, ex cons,etc.. people who have a hard time with employment m so they'll do whatever to keep working. So, the manager may not tell you to lie, but that's what's expected. Plus, they monitored calls. Eventually googled the name and kind of complaints were revealed.

American Handicapped and Disabled Workers is a scam.  There are offices in Michigan, California, and Arizona.  They act like a charity -- and they're not -- then try to bully you into paying them off with threats of collections, legal action, and fraud investigations.  They are currently under investigation by the FTC and several state AGs.  If they contact you, notify your state's AG immediately.  They have been prohibited from contacting residents of Ohio and had to refund their money.

NEVER GIVE TO THE DISABLED VETERANS.......I made the mistake and made a pledge....Very rude and mean people keep calling and harassing me and hang up!  Never again will give over the phone.  What a fool I am!

Over 6mnths ago, I was contacted by this charity to purchase light bulbs (on my cell phone) or make a one time donation for American Handicap workers. I refused to give any bank/card information over the phone and wanted to make a 1 time donation of $25.00. I gave my home address information and stated I will mail in the donation once I receive the letter/statement/or any information. (for verification reasons). The caller stated for my donation I would receive free light bulbs as a "thank you" once my donation was received & my letter would be mailed out that day. I never received any mailings from the company. A month later, 5mnths now, I started receiving numerous phone calls from this company demanding payment for light bulbs totaling $44.50. I have explained the situation to numerous callers, I have asked for copies of any information regarding the mailing of the bulbs (have not received anything even after I was told I would). One caller stated they had a signature from the post office carrier stating it was delivered weeks prior, I asked if the mail carriers name was male or female & what the name was. They refused to give me a name but said it was a male. Both my mail carriers are females and I spoke to them and no packages were left in my mailbox or door step near the time frame they stated it was. I have asked to speak to supervisors and I am hung up on or put on hold for long periods of time then disconnected. I have called numerous times to speak to supervisors. I have asked over 10 times to not be contacted by phone but through mail and discussed harassment by telephone because the callers are rude, hang up on me, threaten me with further collections and phone calls. They have refused to give me a mailing address and any numbers I have received to contact "supervisors" or the direct company are out of service and disconnected. The calling company states they are an out sourced service collection company for the charity but identify themselves as the charity when calling. I have asked for the collection company's name and have been given different names, reverse look ups of these companies are not found on any google search. One caller identified themselves as a " police officer" and when I asked for a badge number or department name, they started becoming angry stating they said "collection officer" I informed the caller I was a police officer and she hung up on me. I called back 3 times using the number on my caller id on my phone. She answered and as soon as I identified myself she hung up the phone. Then she called my cellphone 21 times within a 2 hour window and when I answered she hung up on me and I heard her talking and laughing in the background. I finally received a call from a "Sabrina" identifying herself as the supervisor. I asked for an address to "mail in payment once I received proof the bulbs were mailed" and received the below P.O. Box number. I asked her if any information was in her computer system regarding do not call and explained the 1 time donation situation 6mnths ago. She stated that no information was in the computer system & stated she would let her supervisor know. She tried to get me to pay over the phone and when I refused she became angry and began arguing with me that I committed to the donation and as a thank you the bulbs were mailed & I needed to pay for them. I again explained the $25 one time donation, I didn't want bulbs and I wanted proof of this charity at this point & never agreed to $44.50. I stated I was filing a complaint and next step is a lawyer for harassment by telecommunications. She said she didn't care and would continue to call until they received their payment.
All the numbers (I have blocked an additional 5 total that are not listed) they all are from Michigan, these are the most frequent lines that call numerous times a day. Each of these numbers and callers have been told to stop calling and any communication should be through mail but the same numbers continue to call. The callers are to the point I recognize their voices and they each claim I am not on a do not call list or any information is logged in their system, 2 are females the rest are males, all claim they will note the information. (248)-481-9256; (248)-481-3519; (248)451-1527; (313)-627-0141; (313)-808-2827; (248)-334-3466. These are the most recent numbers and as they come in I keep blocking them but can't keep up. I did not order light bulbs, I did only state a 1 time donation of $25 once I got a letter/statement/any paperwork, now they state I committed to buying the light bulbs at $44.50, I never received the bulbs or anything/mailings from this company. I started looking into this company and the issues and online research "blogs" people have complained of the same exact incidents and many state the calls do not stop. Half stated they never received the bulbs (have similar stories to mine), the other half claim the bulbs were broken or smashed when arrived. A few paid the amount to stop the calls but continue to receive calls that payment wasn't received. Many complaints state it is a scam. Many returned the bulbs to the sender and the calls continue that the bulbs were never returned therefor payment was still due. All amounts vary from $25 to $100. All claim to be an American Handicap or Disabled Vets program.
When I finally received an address this is what I received: P.O Box 431064, Pontiac, Michigan 48343. Phone number to "corporate line" which is always "unavailable" (248)-334-3466. Another address and company name that keeps coming up is: AHDW; 138 North Saginaw Street, Pontiac Michigan 48342
All toll free numbers have been disconnected that I have received or on reverse look up. Older posts have numbers that have been disconnected and they get new ones all to the same address.
This company claims to have revenue of 1.25 million dollars, I would like to see the percentage that is going to our American Handicap or Disabled Vets. I have filed a complaint with the BBB (Better Buisness Bureau), my concern is it may be being turned into credit bureau because we are in process of buying/looking for a home. Any investigations with the CC can take 90 days before it is fixed and your score and interest rates are already damaged at that point. More people need to file complaints with the BBB under charity organization so it can be looked into. I have messaged and called AHDW and have not recieved any return contact.
