I too just went online to request a moving quote.  I was searching for the top moving companies nationwide and the web page asking for my info mentioned both Allied and North American. So, I thought it must be safe to leave my number.  Then within 10 minutes after leaving my cel number I got a call from this number!  I'm thinnking that in addition to the two top moving companies, my info was given to other less reputable companies and the one who called and not say anything after I answered was one of the less reputable ones?  I guess what I'm going to need to do is place this number ont eh National Do Not Call Registry and then call the moving companies myself.

They keep calling, but hanging up and never leaving a message. I have never called them, nor requested any moving quotes (like people have been discussing)....on one hand I am sick of these calls, but I don't want to call and then have them keep calling me.

I contacted Allied Van Lines online for a quote but felt uncomfortable about being forced to speak to a salesperson instead of receiving an email quote.  I closed the window but apparently the site retained the information as I immediately started receiving three calls and messages a day for now four days--business and weekend--along with multiple e-mails.  The calls have continued despite my responding to them about changing my mind two days ago.

Phone rang a few minutes after I requested a moving quote online.  No one there.  Possibly an automated system that they haven't set up properly. I found the other comments regarding this number helpful.

It seems to be moving company and they sends a automated test ring to make sure the entered phone number if valid.

It is indeed Allied Van Lines.   I had requested a quote via the web myself...and while I realize they're franchised....there's something that 1. bothers me that they never identify themselves, either on Caller ID nor by leaving a message (although I get a sense their corporate headquarters have outsourced their call center and that may be why) and 2. when I did get an email and I called them back, it was like pulling teeth to get any information (hence, why I think the call center is outsourced).  

I think I'm gonna try to get in touch with one of their local franchises and see if I can get more detailed and relevant information....or I'm just gonna have to skip them all together.

I also requested a quote from Allied Van Lines yesterday, and got a call from this number today. However, there was nobody on the other end of the line and I hung up. If it's a legit business call, why don't they have a functional phone line, and why didn't their name show up on my Caller ID?

It is Allied Van Lines, and they do not just call random people - so being on the no call list is irrelevant, they didn't break the law. You would've had to give them the number.

When you ask for a quote they call, and you speak to some one in India, and then to will connect you with some one in your area to do an in home estimate. It's kind of just screenings.

Legit call from moving company

This number will not stop calling me. I requested a quote, and then sent an email saying I was no longer interested, and yet I keep recieving calls at all hours of the early morning. Will they ever stop calling me if I ignore the calls long enough??? This is getting frustrating.

I asked for a moving quote between 2 cities in Canada and am not interested in outsourcing to Texas. WTH

unknown caller to my cell phone - twice now

Requested a quote. But they call a couple of times a day via an auto dialer and there is no one live to talk to, just  a recording. Have called them and told them we are going w/ another company and to take my number off their list, but the calls keep coming... it's so annoying that if we were going w/ a movers instead of just renting a truck and moving it ourselves we would never go through them.  At least have a live person calling people who wanted a quote...jeesh
