If they are a market research firm, the Federal Trade Commission's National Do Not Call List does not apply because they are not selling anything.

Same here.  They did not leave a message.  I would not call them back because I couldn't afford any toll calls.   Since this is a first call.  I will not file any complaint with either the FCC or the FTC.  If it's a second time or more, I 'd definitely report it.

Got a call from this number and didn't know who it was.

(262) 821-7077 appeared on the caller ID after the voice annunciator announced "No Number Available" so I presume that they are using some kind of ID blocker.  I answered on the third ring and there was no response for at least a minute and six "Hellos" it sounds like they are using some type of predictive dialer.  I received a collection call two days ago on a debt related to someone with my name who was not me (wrong SSN) so probably Mark is right" this is a shill debt collector.  I am on the "Do Not Call" List--how do you enforce it?

How can it be a collection agency when I have no debt??

This number calls my cell phone and when I answer, no one say anything.

just reported them to my local phone company, they called during the night and just a few minutes ago .  How DARE they call my house on a Sunday?????

caller ID 262-821-7077. Fast talker,  said he was doing a survey for credit card company (Chase).
Said I don't do surveys for anyone! (I don't) and hung up.

Just got a call from this number.   They were doing research on satisfaction for WE Energies.    Legit or not?   I answered the questions.

Who is this?  They phone and don't leave a message, or if I answer, don't saw anything.  They also call multiple times a day.

I get a number of undesired calls.  Having Comcast voice service, I can block up to 12 numbers, and that worked for a while but it seems that Comcast wipes out the numbers list on their own, although they claim they don't.  

So I looked for another way, and it turns out that I can also forward calls from certain numbers to a single number.  So I forwarded the calling number right back to itself.  As I got more calls from other numbers, I forwarded them to the same number.

What used to be about a ten second call when it went to my answering machine was 1 minute 37 seconds for the most recent call, and the phone never even rang here!  I wonder what they were talking about with each other?  It'd be fun to be a fly on THAT wall!

Oh, and I owe no one any money.  These places look up a person on the internet and pester everyone they can remotely connect with the last name.  Telling them that there's no such person here doesn't phase them in the least, they just keep calling.

For now, I think I've beaten them at their own game, so give it a try, it should work for you, too.

I had to have a gas line checked by WE Energies, three days later this number called me to ask if I was pleased with the work WE Energies had done.  They were very nice..It was a 30 second survey.

I work second shift so everyone that knows me also knows I won't answer but can leave a message.  The ID just had the number...no name so I ignored it and looked it up when I got home.  After reading about this Unknown source, I saved it as a contact under the name of "Don't Answer."  I don't bother to call them back for then they know it's a working number. Next time they call, I know not to bother with it.

That's the 1st thing that came to my mind, also! JW, u need to CHANGE everything! Get Protection on ALL yer ID's, credit cards, bnk accts, SS#,etc...

This phone # calls me ALL the time! They "try" to hide their # but it still shows w/unknown! They NEVER talk to us. Now that I KNOW who they are, they've been reported to our AG's offc. I'm in the state of Rhode Island.

Alot of unwanted calls from some "hinkey" company that tries to hide its ph.#, doesn't lv msgs nor reply when I do answer the ph. Yes, weird! Why call?

Why would you want to be removed from a DO NOT CALL list???
