Legitimate collection agencies will always leave a message and contact number along with a reference number.  They will never ask for personal info (i.e. social security number, bank account info, or credit/debit card) and you should NEVER give that to anyone that has called you.  The best thing to do when getting repeated calls and calls during off hours is to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office of your state.  Here is the link that tells you your rights concerning fair debt collection : http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm and is very useful.  Also, valid collections are exempt from the "no call list" and also have access to private number lists.  One last thing, you should try doing a google search on yourself.  You would be amazed at the wealth of information available on the internet, such as these posts when you put your full and correct name.  Hope this helps and no I do not work for a collection agency but have had many dealings with them in the past.

Got a call from this number and I do not answer numbers that are not familiar to me. There was no message either. Whoever it is needs to stop.
