    Don't pick up the phone and don't call them back or it lets them know there is a live person on this end of the phone. Call your phone company to find out about blocking options and simply block the number so that they never even get a chance to ring. This 'FBI reporting security system' scheme is an old one, and they are likely frauds in addition to thieves. They should be reported to the FCC and/or police department as scammers.

    Call received on work phone # (Palm Beach County) at 1pm. Recording mentioned break in stats and "FBI" I guess trying to instill fear. They said if you are willing to put signs in the yard, they will install security system at no cost. Said "to hear more press 1" and to be placed on do not call list press 9.  Take a guess which one I pressed?!

    Some cellphones have an option to mark a number as SPAM.  On my Samsung Galaxy S3, it's the blocked numbers list.  Click on the number in your call log and instead of adding a contact, press the lower-left menu button and select "Add to blocked numbers."
