I too am on the Do Not Call list and continue to receive a tremendous amount of charity/sales calls. I came home to find 313-203-8198 called my home but did not leave an answer. After googling it I found this thread. My solution: last year I purchased a Panasonic cordless phone for the house with the ability to easily block these annoying callers. I easily and quickly add them to my block list and they can no longer call me. It's fantastic!!!

this is a auto number calling and then when you call it back, a lady is nice but states she just get the call out of the blue and the phone company won't fix the error???

Asked if they were with the BBB, and asked to send information to us and we'd look into and get back.  WE WERE TOLD TO HAVE A NICE DAY AND HUNG UP ON!!  Makes you think??????

They called my husband this am and when he said my wife will speak to you - they hung up.

Upon checking the internet I found that the consensus is that these are scammers.

The American Cancer Society does not solicit by phone.

How can this be turned over to telephone fraud?

I received these calls, and I took the advice of Waldo and called CMC TELECOM, INC., at their corporate headquarters.

That number is 1-866-262-7283.

I spoke with a VERY nice lady, who took my report.  You will have to give them your phone number where the call came in, as well as the number and name (ACS) that shows up on your caller ID.

If you will do this, they can block these people from calling you again.

She also admitted that they (CMC Telecom) are receiving numerous complaints about these people every day.

It IS a scam - the American Cancer Society says they have NO affiliation with them, and for anyone who receives a call from this number to report it to them and to CMC Telecom IMMEDIATELY.

Someone calling EVERY NIGHT....NOT waiting for anyone to answer.  When that number is called back, no one answers.  What is going on?  No message left...cannot reach that number when it is called back. ???????????

Have received several phone calls from this number.  ACS on the caller ID,  I finally answered and the caller
gave a legitimate sounding request. He told me that he was going to mail a pledge card and I agreed to pledge $10.00,  He then transferred me to a woman to verify my address.  She asked me for my debit or credit card for the donation.  When I explained that I agreed to mailing the donation in , and I don't do credit or debit cards over the phone, she promplty hung up....Needless to say if (and i doubt it) a card comes in the mail, I won't be sending a donation.  This is obviously a scam.  I hope they call again as I am prepared to waste there time.

A female and a male called from this number, and when I told them they could not speak to my Father, they became rude and I hung up. They call every day, and I finally said I was calling the police and report them, they still called back again. Why can't they be stopped? My Father is 73 years old, and he is not dumb, he knows a scam when he hears one. They will not take NO for an answer, and I am tired of them harrassing my Father. Isn't there some place we can call and get them put out of business or at least get them legally reported? This is sad that they try to scam people and under the assumption of needing donations for the Cancer Society. This is really pathetic.

You get woke up early in the morning after seating up all night with a mother who has cancer and alzheimers then you can see how scams like this effect good people. We give to the cancer fund and even walk for cancer then to have some scammers call and LIE . I dint care if they have to make a living do it the right way. By the way I was a telemarketer that is how I paid my way threw school  It was a good company They are out there. I have reported them to several agencies DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WILL HELP.
