    Strange how nearly all of these unsolicited posts of verification came within 38 minutes of each other even though no one had questioned it. Has the dog farted in here because something ,sure as hell, stinks.

    Claiming to be Microsoft and actually being Microsoft are two different things. Keep in mind that telemaggoters have been known to use caller ID spoofing.

    This scam calls from a 'private caller' number. They will tell you they have detected viruses on your computer and will help you clear them. They will then direct you to the event log to delete error messages and will act surprised when you have no delete option. They will then ask you to go to their web page so that a technician can see what is wrong with your machine. If you question them about the fact that it is a private caller number, they will tell you to check out this page,

    A whole pack of dogs!  A quick look at the REAL Microsoft website will tell anyone that neither Microsoft nor its partners will ever 'phone and anyone who does is a scammer.  There are no exceptions.  This scam is so old it has whiskers and has been exposed on TV and in the news so much I am surprised that anyone still falls for it.
