I have received 4 calls from this number just in the last 8 hours. All I hear when I answer is a beep and a recorded voice that says "Good-bye." I want this to stop!

I didn't speak to anyone b/c I didn't answer the phone. I looked the number up here and researched a bit to find out more. First off, the Do Not Call list exempts political and non-profit calls. The National Diabetes Association is a non-profit. They are not registered with the BBB. It doesn't sound like a scam but it's just something we have to put up with in order to a free society. Political and Non-Profit calls are exempted in order to guarantee thier right to free speech. You can't legally shut them up just to make your life more convenient. Sorry.

just got a call from this number...it is a los angeles area code....they asked for Mrs. Bauer....sorry wrong number.....then she heard a "click"

They keep calling but say nothing so I called back to ask them to stop but get an error code so they do not take incoming  calls. I also on the Ga and federal do not call registry. Perhaps someone should give some input on who to contact to let the ADA aware of this scam as they can make them stop, or any other agency with as many complaints as I've read here and other paces about this number there should be something that we as a group can do to put a stop to this. Repeatedly said hello finally answered and then they said they were wondering if anyone was diabetic, and then wanted a donation

we received a call from this phone number phone at approximately 5pm tonight.  caller id said california.  tried to call back the number but it wouldn't go thru. thanks to all of you who posted your messages, now i know it was not anything to be concerned about.

What good is the "Do not call list"? Is it only good for US callers? What about these calls from overseas????

accent was very strong, static during the conversation so i said please remove my number from your list. the person hung up immediately.

same id "california" - i get many calls like this despite "do-no-call" registry - is there a way to get help from police or federal agency? My home phone only allows a few numbers to be blocked - not sure about Att....And id that says "Char Meck Emergency" calls relentlessly so I emailed county office yesterday...Thank for any ideas on how to prevent and deal with these very annoying calls, Sue

Received a call today from this number.  They did not leave a message.  I am on the Do Not Call list.

Received a call from this number with a California ID but i did not answer it and they left no message.

I did not answer phone.   But in the past I got phone calls asking if I was a diabetic.  The caller promptly got a profanity from me, and they hung up.  I suspect call today was from the same people.   I will label this number as "SPAM - diabeties"  and never answer them again.

This foreign lady called from American Diabetes. She called because her list said that I am diabetic.
Is not health information supposed to be confidential?
