I tried to file a complaint for a fraudulent call a received from this scam number but although the form said if suspect information is unknown click to continue, it would not let me.  Perhaps there is a glitch in the online complaint form at the moment.  This is the number you can call to file a complaint to the FTC via phone. :

I don't want people not filing a complaint just because of some online glitch.  For those of you who haven't done so already, I highly recommend adding yourselves to the Do Not Call list but just so you know, I'm already on it and still got a call from this particular scam artist so they could care less about being smart.  If all of us take the time to file a complaint we can shut this scam down.  Someone out there may not know about these types of scams and actually give them their IRS information.  Please do your part to try to avoid this from happening to someone.  Thanks.

I put unknown when filling out this form but only because scam artist wasn't an option for "Call Type."

P.S.  Everyone, I saw lots of posts about a male and broken English and a male caller but the person I spoke to was a female who spoke perfect English.  There is obviously more than one person involved in this stupid scam.  The number listed in my prior post was the number to FTC Headquaters.  The number that called me was (346)-971-6378. Someone called and I answered because a transportation I use sometimes has numbers call from their personal numbers.  There was no response to me saying hello so I hung up.  Later on in the day I realized I missed a phone call from the same number so I called back.  A female answered and when I mentioned I had a missed call from the number and was wondering who it was she said let me know what number we called.  I said you've already called me I wanna know who you are, you can't tell me who you are or what company you are representing?  Automatically the phone clicked and I haven't gotten a call back since then.

I am in AL and I have received calls a few times stating to return a call to this number. I have have a coworker who also talked with someone and was told to bring money to a certain location. The two people I talked to were a "Mr Carter" and "Agent Coleman" this was strange since they both spoke very broken "American English".

Same basic call as others IRS claiming cash owed.

Got 2 phones calls already today, both times they left a message...or should i say half message! asking me to call back for more information about this case file, no file number btw. So i see many ppl say its a scam, i dont doubt it seeing as how IF u owed anyone any money they would leave a file number AND they would NOT call and leave multiple messages in the same day seeing as how that too is against the law! IF u owed someone $$ they can call even every hour, BUT they can only leave ONE message in a day, after a message is already left they can not call back that day! Know ur laws

YES! TY, ppl do need to file complaints. I filed one today, hopefully ppl keep filing complaints, its the only way to hopefully catch these jerks
