These people are scammers.  They call my phone and try to leave a fax.  They are not to be trusted and should be shut down.

Someone input the wrong phone number into their fax machine and you immediately jumped to the conclusion that they are scammers? Does that happen every single time someone makes a mistake around you?

this number has called several times in a row, and there is nothing but beeps when the phone is picked up.

There are  many, many of us getting this spam call  at 5 am and they keep ringing straight through to the daytime- No legitimate business calls you at that hour --- or is reported by so many. Ask some questions before you accuse.

I think what JackReacher was pointing out is that this is possibly a fax.  Advertising fax are often sent in the "wee hours", however I was unable to confirm that this is, in fact, a fax line.  Usually when I call back a fax line I get a fax signal but in this case I got "call cannot be completed as dialed."   I found other sites that have reported this number as a fax line, a silent call, and a robo call.  Perhaps you could try sending a "stop" fax to the number.  If it is a legitimate company that has simply made an error it may end the calls.  Worth a try?

Whomever is sending these FAX is operating from a seriously flawed number list.  Maybe if you file a "junk fax" complaint they will get the message.  I don't know if it will help but worth a try?  Here's the FCC's page on junk fax.  If you scroll down there is a link for reporting online.

I'm tired of having this number call me.  I don't care what the reason is - I just want it to stop.

They do several in a row, because they think they are sending to their intended destination, and that it isn't going through. I had the same experience, and I found out it was from a hospital sending to a Doctors office.  The drs. office numbers area code was one digit different from mine! I contacted the hospital and told them that whoever was trying to fax the number, to double check the no. they are using and correct it.

Years ago when i had a fax machine, I  sent a letter back through the fax, letting them know to double-check the number. I didn't appreciate getting someones personal medical info!
