Just got a call from this number when I called back I was told the number was busy

Got a call there 15 mins ago off this number and as the same as tony a woman was on the line I just hung up.

I have had several phone calls from this number over last number of days - didn't answer them.

How do they have my number?    I have a land line which is ex-directory?

They are still calling. I answered, there was no voice, only silence and when I tried to hang up, my phone stayed connected. I disconnected my battery in order to disconnect the call. If this is a survey caller, its spam.

Having an ex-directory number doesn't mean you avoid all unsolicited calls. Market research companies often call random (valid) phone numbers. They don't necessarily pick numbers from the phone book.

Got a missed call from the number. My Husband googled it and discovered it could be a scam.

Received a call from this number and answered. Only heard background noise and then they hung up.

It's market research!  Not everyone is out to scam you.  Well done for causing panic.
