They just called, I don't answer unknown numbers, checked here, my gut instinct was right.  :)  Off to get that Blacklist app, that sounds perfect.

Those people call at least 3-4 times a week at various hours. My number is on the do not call list so beside posting their number on as many marketing sites as possible i also filed a complain with the do not call system.

FACTS: They are scammers calling from off shore and using phony ID to look like coming from your area. I have been fighting these crooks for years and have reported them to the State Attorney General who says they cannot be traced. They even call several State offices daily with these calls. The only way is to block them. NEVER answer the call. The calls are automated and if unanswered doesn't record info such as when you are home that is SOLD to other scammers. Phone calls cost them nothing. NEVER answer a call you do not know the ID. Let them leave a message. NEVER press a number to remove your number, This just verifies that a live person answered and you will get more calls. Blocking them is the only way and most phones only block 30 numbers, so you have to keep deleting the oldest call and chances are they will call on that number again. The FCC, FTC, and others are trying to catch these crooks, but all leads to off shore and no way to stopping them. I think laws need to be made to require phone companies to block all automated calls using numbers that are false. In fact computer generated calls should be illegal. Surprising how many fall for these scams and they make millions.

I receive calls on my cell phone as well as home.  The caller ID is from "Washington" but I do not answer it.  No voice messages are left.  I get a call once a day on my home phone.  ATT Universe has a blocking option where you can block up to 20 telephone numbers.  It might slow them down but it won't stop it.  Where are our legislators?  Don't they get these annoying calls?

Go to the National Do Not Call list and register your number, You should also file a complain to the FCC on the same site. If everyone complains, the FCC will eventually do something. Who knows, you may get compensated from the fine. https://www.donotcall.gov/confirm/conf.aspx?panel=3
