Got a call from this number. Strangely. caller ID says Aberdeen. I did call this number but no response. Could it be spoofed?

I ran the number on two paid directory sites and they came up with the same private party but one of the freebee ones gives a different name.  Admittedly these directories are notoriously inaccurate so I wouldn't put too much stock in it.  It might just be a wrong number.  Check back and see if anyone else posts.  If you learn anything more I hope you'll let the community know.  Cheers.

Any number can be spoofed.  But, it could have simply been a misdial by the private party that Pudge referred to.

Nothing all that strange, your phone company places the name information into the Caller ID display.  They are supposed to take the phone number sent in the Caller ID information and do a search for it in one or more databases of registered phone subscribers.  If they make a match they put that subscribers name in your Caller ID display.  If they fail to find a match, or the number is tagged as unlisted/unpublished, or they just do not bother to search, then they can place something else in the name field.  A common value that is used is the location of the rate centre that the number is part of, usually shown as the name of a City and the abbreviation of the State/Provence it is in.
