Received a call on my cell phone minutes ago.  An all American make voice stated how we should support our Pole and Fire Department.  Then, the recoding disappeared!!  I think the origin of this American recording is coming from Jamaca Man!

lol I was a telemarketer for almost 5 years and I still get a kick out of people thinking that there is some list out there of people that are protected 8) that was somebody that swindled you out of some cash and made you think that you would see results. Companies can contact you as many times as they want no matter what "list" you think you may be on. The LEGAL aspect of it all is that if you request to be "removed from the company's calling list" they must comply within 24 business hours or they can be fined for harassment... Now here's the rub almost every person in a call center is either a teenager/felon and they DON'T CARE! its the company that deals with that. In fact they laugh about frustrated people they spoke to, like yourself, during smoke breaks. More than likely what happened is that you or someone gave away your number, they used an automatic dialer to probe whether or not your phone number was still active (those leads are very unreliable, and cheap that's why they bought them) after you answered and had a machine hang up you were recirculated in their systems as ACTIVE... every affiliate with that company now is blowing your line up, SAYING NOT INTERESTED is the worst response and does not stop the calling, in fact you just became a challenge! Even if you ask to be removed they can send you to a sister co. and keep going... once they purchase the lead (YOU) from themselves they can "LEGALLY" call you again... unfortunately call centers have hundreds of numbers and you will usually be called from at least five different departments in a single building, on multiple occasions before they give up on you and later resend the probe dialer to sniff you out again.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN CONCLUSION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT ANSWER STRANGE NUMBERS, LOOK THEM UP AFTERWARD... BLOCK WHEN YOU SEE BAD REVIEWS... IF YOU ANSWER AND IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC DIALER YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH SALES CALLS... IF YOU DONT ANSWER YOU HAVE A FEW MORE WEEKS OF PEACE.... THE ONLY WAY TO END THIS NOW IS TO CHANGE YOUR NUMBER AND HOPE THE LAST PERSON DIDNT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE
