My experience was exactly the same. Call at 7:20am.  I usually don't answer but this time I was infuriated at the early hour (even though we are all up).  A woman tells me she is calling about a charge to my card.  I said BS and she said, hey, have I asked you for any money!!  Apparently a charge of $436. went through from an online purchase.  I told her I would call my bank myself and slammed the phone down.  I'll be blocking it for whatever good that does these days.

Caller with a foreign accent was looking for my father-in-law claimed he made a charge on a laptop (HP)  Pavilion of $69.00. Strange ...he got my father-in-laws name right but he owned a pavilion desktop. I owned the laptop.  Either way he got info from 2 different points. Called  at 1:08 p.m. He finally hung up because I told him my  father-in-law was deceased.

Got a phone call at 7 am. Person with heavy foreign accent told me my charge card had been used to purchase
an extremely costly item in Europe. That's not possible as I didn't and don't shop overseas. Just in case I called my charge card
company to verify any major purchases made and as I expected there was't any.
So beware if you get a phone call from 1-403-277-0858. Please don't give the caller any personal information. It is probably a scam.

Yet another scammer from that cesspool of call centres in the Punjab! He identified himself as "John" from "Visa International" and told me that my Visa card had been "hacked" and $495.00 had been put on the card "illegally" by "hackers". Asked for his desk/extension number and his reply was: "eff for Foxtrot, you for Uniform, see for Charlie..." Asked for his supervisor, and he swore at me a few times, then hung up. I just wish they'd stop calling at 0713 in the bloody morning!! No coffee... arrrrgh!

I just got my second call from these idiots about a $400+ for an on-line purchase.  Told Roberto, though he didn't sound the least European, that I was going to call the police about his scam.  Lots of background noise that didn't sound like a professional office.
