i guess i ordered it, but i was driving at the same time and jsut wanted them to get off my nuts, dumb of me and gave them my card number, before i tried to cancel because they charged my card and i was confused because i didnt recieve anything, i complained and asked to cancel. they wouldnt let me so i canceled my card and set a claim for what they charged me before which was around $60-$65. i got the money back and a new card, but now i have a mail saying i owe a previous charge around $33 and a pass due one, another $33 which is now around 60 something bucks! i dont want to pay them but im not sure wat will happen, i read before that they cant send to me collection because they dont have my social security number. please help me, it would be great if you or anyone.

I was stupid enough to sign up for Country Wide Periodicals. i tried to cancel right after and was told i could not cancel and it would go negatively on my credit score (which my husband and i were trying to buy a house so i didn't need anything negative on it, so i kept it for the time being).... now we have a house and i want it to STOP... which i have NOT received ANY magazines from these people.... they told me that it would take 8 weeks to start getting any... it's been about 3 months now... and i call the number on the credit card statement and it beeps and hangs up.... when they called me they already had my SS#, DOB, and CC number... said i was a preferred customer through my credit card.... does anyone have this number to cancel this and how to keep it from coming back negative on my credit????

I was charged $66.00 and now I'm being charged $86.00. This scam needs to be stopped because I can't afford these prices every month with a family to support. Please someone not only help me, but help everyone eho has become victimized by this.

The only way to cancel your "subscription" to this "service" is to cancel bank card that you gave them.
Then, when they call to hassle you, or send you to their "collection agencies", don't give them another number to suck money "automatically".
A year later I still get calls from their "collections services" from at least 5 different States across the country. These pathetic souls that are "just doing their job" get paid a commission if they can get you to "settle up". (There is/has been no service I need to settle up for.) .
I collect the numbers of these "agencies" that don't leave a message. I assign them a funny name and duck sound ring tone and just turn them off whenever they call me again. I subscribed about a year ago. I told them I wanted to cancel after two months because I was not receiving magazines but I was being charged for them. I am still being charged for the magazines I am NOT receiving. Please help me.

The best thing to do is just cancel your card and get a new one issued to you from your bank. I had to do it. They will not let you cancel.

Hey am trying to cancel my subscription but they have been giving me a hard time and every time they call they tell me they are going to send me to collections, i lost my job and i called to cancel and they were rude about it they even ask if i can ask someone to borrow the money but if you can help it will be great cause i don't need this on my credit much less the harassment i am already stress out and them call me constantly is even worse. And also i think three days to cancel a magazine subscription doesn't even make sense.

It is and they will harass you for your money ----just cancel your bank card

The company operates out of Montana there might be a way to stop the calls. under Montana state code 30-14-1410 - Disclosure and contract requirements sub-section 4 a) Except as provided in subsection (6), in addition to any other right to revoke an offer, in the case of a sale made by telephone, the buyer may cancel the sale at any time prior to signing an agreement or offer to purchase the goods or services. Also code 30-14-1412 - Abusive acts and practices sub-section 1) It is an abusive telemarketing act or practice and a violation of this part for any seller or telemarketer to engage in the following conduct: (a) use threatening, intimidating, or profane or obscene language; (b) engage any person repeatedly or continuously with behavior a reasonable person would consider annoying, abusive, or harassing. http://www.lawserver.com/law/state/montana/mt ... pter_14_part_14.
