I have a possible theory about these type of calls.  I have a pay-as-you-go cell phone which uses up your minutes when someone calls you.  The last 1 I had was T-Mobile, which had 1000 mins on it.  I was getting 20/30 calls a day from people I didn't know.  I have a feeling whatever phone service you have, if it's a pay-as-you-go, that phone service is having people call your phone just to eat up your mins.  Do you get these calls also when you pay monthly for a cell phone & do they eat up your mins also?
