I got this call and a guy left a husky voice message "Want to speak with you personally. Please accept our sincere apologies, goodbye. " I will block this number.

Got a call from this number and let it go to the machine. The caller left a message saying: "F*!$ that [***]; f!*$ that," and hung up. It made me very uncomfortable.

That is the same as I have been getting. If we all report this to the San Jose Police Department at www.SJPD.org/records "File a report online" they will open an investigation and hopefully it will stop!!!

I will file reports with both the FTC and the SJPD. The Do Not Call list is a joke.
I am so sick of these and other jerks that continue to call my phone every day for NO GOOD REASON.
The block feature provided by my phone service has a limit. My list is full and my phone service will not expand it, but that is a different issue.

I know this actually wont work but it gives me some satisfaction:  try to break these types of scams but wasting their time as they do ours.  I just called them back and left a 5 minute message in which I gave them no information.  At the end, I marked the message as urgent.  Start doing this! its the only attack u have against these rude leaches.

408 865 9464 is tied to 916 596 6160.  They are spam sales calls TBSBLAD, or Sungate Energy Solutions.  They use the 408 number to test if there is anyone answering before a sales person from 916 number calls.  Sons of b&*CHes won't stop.

They're at it again. Just screened them out. You can, too! Here's how (from the AT&T online User Guide):

Call Screen

Unwanted repeat callers and crank calls, now you don't have to be bothered by them.

Just set up a list of up to 10 numbers, and calls from those numbers will be screened out. You don't even have to know a number to screen it. Just add it after an unwanted call.

How to use

Press *60 (1160 from a rotary phone) and follow prompts

Calls from numbers on your list will now be screened. Until the service is turned off, your phone will not ring for calls from these numbers. The callers will hear the following:

"We're sorry. The party you are calling is not accepting this call. Thank you."


To setup or add a phone number

Press # (12 from a rotary phone)
Dial the phone number you would like to setup or add and press # (* from a rotary phone)

Note: Repeat for each number you're adding.
To add the phone number of a call you just received

Press # (12 from a rotary phone)
Press 01 (01 from a rotary phone)

Number keeps calling but I put them on my screened call list. They always seems to call later in the evening too, annoying when you have a little one.
We are on the do not call list so how is this number getting away with it?
Don't understand why this person or computer keeps dialing our number then all you get is dead air. if it's a sales call you would need to sell not say nothing.
The sad thing is this number at one point was calling 4 to 5 times a day. Now that I "screened" them they can call all they want the phone no longer rings for that number. I see from my log they are still calling but now they get the usual "we are not accepting calls at this time" or whatever comcasts canned message is.

I received calls from 408-865-9464 (showed as ATT) three times in the past 7 days. Just ignore it.

My caller ID indicated ATT. Not ATT, San Jose Fire Association.

Called and hang up when answered. I just put them on Call Block on my Panasonic DECT phone—they'll get a busy signal from now on—they can try to get through CallBlock all they want, but will never succeed. I am not "handy for the phone" to these ashholes. To reach me, they'll have write a letter. The party behind it feels crank, dishonest, deceptive, fraud, up to no good. CallerID as "ATT".
