Report a phone call from 408-942-9800 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Vice President replies to jmThank you for your comment. Unfortunately, not everyone is wise enough - or awake enough - to not fall for this scam. One positive thing you can do is to let your friends and family know about the threat and also let them know that the criminals are not so dumb as to leave their own phone number. Anyway, they are likely calling from some foreign country.
- InnaJust got a call from this same number and I tried to call it back and hang up after no one answered. I researched the number online and found these complains.
- MarkCall from 408-942-9800 12-July-2011 3:43pm CDT advising me that my account (at a bank at which I do not have an account) was locked and I should press 1 to be connected to the security department. I hung up.
- Robert replies to Vice PresidentIf you waste your time with 300 calls per day why doesn't your dumbass take an hour and change your number at the end of your next financial year.
You could send a notification out to all of your customers and still save money if you have to take 300 calls a day which is 78,000 calls a year if you are open five days a week. - Not Easily Fooled!DO NOT KEY IN OR GIVE ANY INFORMATION - HANG UP - Recording indicated it was Grow Financial Credit Union and my card had been stolen - not true - Grow Indicated they are getting a lot of complaints and from reading the thread above these SCAMERS use different Bank names. Report the call to your bank so that they can document and their fraud department can go after and possibly prosecute - SCUMBAGS
- BankruptGot a auto-robo call to my cell stating that my Chase Debit Mastercard had been lost or stolen and to press "one" to get it reinstated - I do not have a card with Chase, in fact, I have no cards whatsoever so this is nothing but a SCAM
- Caller: Chase Debit Mastercard
- lisaJust recvd the same call in DEC 2012. I stopped by my bank straightaway. It wasnt them this is a def scam
- KimNeed to call back to a security consultant
- Caller: No compnay name left
- Not stupid to fall 4 it8/19/13 746acst. A recording saying my Mellon debit account was compromised. Press 1 to reactivate or 2 to hang up. Don't have a Mellon card so I pressed 1 anyway. They said to enter 16 digit account number with 4 digit exp date. Yes, right ! Duh! I hung up
- Caller: Unknown from San Jose, ca
- Smarter than themWas woken up at 12:30 A.M. with a call from this number to my cell phone. A recording says my mastercard from 5th 3rd bank was suspended and to press 1 for more information. Since I don't have a credit card it was a no brainer. What astounds me is that these calls have been being made for at least five years now, seeing the original dates on this forum going back to 2009. Also, the Do Not Call registry only applies to legitimate businesses trying to sell you something. It doesn't keep scum bags from calling random numbers in the middle of the night, sadly.
- Caller: Scam
