It's the New York Daily News trying to sell newspapers but when you call the number back it's busy they finally got me today.

they called me at 12:36 pm and i was sleeping tried to call it back it was busy?

hang up as soon as I answer

these dumb [***] people called me this morning and woke me up.

so this number calls me all the time n if i answer no one is there is so annoying

ok this number keeps calling my Daughters cell Went to the web and clicked on the stop calling me.  will let you know if it worked.  They were calling her 2-3 times a day.

This number called, the guy said hello and hung up.  I have been receiving a lot of these calls lately, I hate it.

I don't know who these people are but judging from the responses on this post, I believe they are SCAM artists. I got this call on my cell phone recently and they call at least each week. I believe if you enter any sort of contest and list your number it is sold to others who comprise lists and use their automated systems to dial you.
If they are persistent , you can threaten them with a lawsuit after 3 warnings. I got that info from the news and on the SUE TELEMARKETERS website. I have yet to try it because it takes diligence and time to pursue these annoying scabs; that is if you can get  a live person on the phone to begin with. Folks please be careful and NEVER give any info over your phone, better yet don't answer and waste your cell minutes on them.

stop calling my office, cell, and/or home...your calls are unsolicited and my numbers are listed in the do not call registry--stop it

this guy keeps on calling me and i called it back the number i got then was (631)588-1920 but the monotone on the other end said tht number ws disconnected. hes called me 9 times in the past like 2 weeks and its creeping me out/pissing me off

wtf? they keep calling me, its annoying me, omg!
i have a small child, she gets scred when she picks up and hears heavy breathing, or a hang up, after a loud NO!!!
i called the (631-798-1299) and left a message, no 1 picked up,
so i wonder if some one will take me off the dam list..
  but ill keep u up dated....

They claim they're calling from the Daily News offering free samples of the paper. Called Daily News and they have no sales/marketing program offering free copies.

Everyday I see a call on my caller id from Peconic Bay Mkt with no message left. Today, Saturday Aug 2, 2008 I received another call and answered it. I had to say hello twice because the first time she never acknowledged me. She started with her speech, she said she was from the DAILY NEWS and they were going to delivery the paper and if I didn't want it, I would have to call and cancel it. I said no, I'm not interested because I don't know when you will be delivering and then I'll have, and then she hung up on me, how rude of her that she didn't even let me finish. I was furious and hit re-dial and it was busy busy busy, again and then I got a recording, now mind you, the number in the caller id is 410-685-1008. The number you have reached 631-588-1920 has been disconnected and no further information is available. Funny that a 410 # on caller id is a 631 # when you dial it. She said she was from the Daily News so now we all call the Daily News and tell them off!

Im not sure who this is that's calling my number, but everytime I answer the call, they hang up. When I try to dial the number back. Its busy. Can someone tell me how do I stop these people from calling my phone.

It is peconic bay marketing out of baltimore maryland.  I looked up the area code and googled peconic bay in maryland, this is what came up...So they are just being big fat jerks!!!!! Cant wait till they call me again!   ; )

When I picked up, the call hung up.  No voice, no breathing, just my aggravation.

I get calls from #410/685-1008, at least, twice weekly. If I'm out, no message is left but the telephone # appears on my caller ID. When I'm at home & pick up the phone there's "dead air" & then the # disconnects!!! I'm on the National "Do Not Call" Registery & my phone # is unlisted. Remove my phone # from Peconic Bay Marketing's call list immediately!!!
