I'm getting calls from this number they don't say anything then call the number and get a recording not a good number.i'm duquense lightcustomer but for that have anything to do with them.

I've been called by this number multiple times over the past few weeks on my cell. There is never anything but dead silence on the other end, followed by a quick disconnect.

This most recent time a few minutes ago, I just answered without making any noise and the same thing happened.

I'm glad some of you have actually spoken to people about electricity on this line. My first thought was that it was someone trying to figure out whether anyone was home (because of the spate of burglaries in Shadyside).

Number called me 3 times within 1 miute.  No message

These guys are serious as$ho%#s!!!! After saying I'm not interested in saving money on my electric bill I asked them to stop calling me. The Rep becomes rude with me, I get pissed and we get into a shouting match. The way I got her off the phone is by asking her,“what is your name and employee or rep number.” so I cann call your superior and report you. It worked until the started calling from a different nbr. Smh

I just got this call on my cell. I even have an out of state cell number. I tried to call back after reading all of these comments and the call can't be completed.

I just received a call from this number. The woman claimed she was a representative for a company above duquesne light and wanted me to provide information so they could apply a "rate reduction." I told her that I questioned her legitimacy and she got indignant and told me they'd send information 3 days after i gave them my information (total red flag for a scam). I asked her to send the information first, and told her that my service with duquesne light would be ending this month, and she abruptly hung up on me. DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION!

Duquesne Light was required to pass on their list of customers to the PA Utilities Commission.  The commission then passed the list on to any other electric company-due to new laws/regulations.  If you look on www.papowerswitch.com, it is a non-bias website that goes into detail of the different options we now have.  BE CAREFUL-almost all of them have a couple hundred dollars in cancellation fees.  I am not saying Duquesne Light is the cheapest or best, but just be careful!!  It is annoying that they do keep calling us, but just giving you background.

I just experienced two hang-ups from this number today as well.

Got 2 calls yesterday and 1 already this morning. After I answered about 7 seconds later the call just dropped.

Got a call from this number today - The rep gave a long winded speech on how I am paying fees because I dont have a provider.  I said I pay a bill so someone is giving me power, he said no one is your provider.  At this point he was getting rude, so I began to ask them "Tell me more about electricity".  The rep then yelled hope you enjoy over paying and then hung up.  This company is a bunch of misfits.

I've seen missed calls from this number on my cell phone numerous times.  Over the last few days I picked up and got silence 2 or 3 times.  Today someone answered and asked for the person in charge of the Duquesne Light bill.  When I insisted on knowing what company she belonged to, she said IDC Energy.  When I told her I've switched providers already, and I'd like them to stop calling me, she hung up on me even before I was finished talking.  If they really are from IDC Energy, there's no way I would want to buy anything from them after this behavior.

I've got calls from this number on several phones that I own or use as part of my work.  The only one they got through on was one of the work phones, the rest were dead silence or a brief silence and a hang-up.  It appears that they are "robot-calling", but if you are on a "do not call" list (the work phone wasn't), they have to hang up or they're breaking the law.

Please report this predatory and fraudulent company if you are on the do not call list and they keep calling you. It is easy and quick at the attorneygeneral website. Hopefully the following URL is allowed to be posted here. http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/dnc.aspx/

I just filed a complaint with PA do not call list and with a few more, hopefully these scum will be shut down.

Be very careful of this number, and those like it...I'm a business owner, and tv reporter. I received a call from this number, where they claimed my biz acct was delinquent. They asked for too much info, but sadly knew too much also. Neither my biz or personal accts are delinquent. It was a phishing scam that could have been very costly...do not pick up any calls from this #. Good luck! Sad all the good people have to deal with this.

They are from IDT, an electric supplier. When they call they say they are Duquesne Lights largest supplier and they try to get you to choose them to supply your electricity. Like previous posts have said, you'd still get one bill from DL, with a rate for the distribution (from them) and a rate for the generation (from DL). I use a different supplier who gave me a better rate than this company and they will not stop calling. The are rude and I have told them they've called me a dozen times and they always say no, we've never called you, meanwhile I can prove they have, their number is on my cell phone a dozen times.

The company calling is IDT Energy Telemarketers.
