Just got a call from a guy at this number with an East Indian accent. He said he was calling from the Head Office of Visa and Mastercard. He asked if I had a Visa or Mastercard. I laughed and said I never heard of Visa and Mastercard having a head office together as they are two different companies. "Where is it located?" He hung up.

here in BC. keep getting the call for a mr. anderson. who is not me... has called atleast 7 times over the last few months you think he would get the point

... or maybe you just gave him the information he was looking for, eg. that the name and phone number match. If you start getting many more scam calls in the next few weeks, you'll know soon enough!

Same thing as the others.  Man with heavy East Indian accent claiming to be from Visa called to say I'd won a trip to Florida.
I told him I did not enter any contest, he said Visa randomly chose me and he needed to "verify" I was the legal card holder.
I asked him how he was planning to verify that (what information would he need, etc).  He just kept saying he need to verify the card before he could give me details about the trip.  I kept asking how.  He finally said he needed to verify my expiration date.  I told him that made no sense and that I would call Visa directly and then hung up.
I immediately called Visa and told them.  They confirmed there is no such contest and have received calls about similar "scams" but when I offered the phone number, the claimed there was nothing they could do.  They asked if there had been any fraudulent charges on my card, but they can't really do anything because they are "international" (????).  I told them that if a person is claiming to be an agent of Visa to gain personal financial information they could report it as fraud in the jurisdiction of the phone number so I told them to just take the number down (but I doubt they did).
Based on the comments about this number on this site, I also reported it by phone to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (www.antifraudcentre.ca).  They were more interested but did little more than take my report and give me a file number (When you call them, you will be on hold for a while...if you want to report the complaint online you've got to register on their site.  BTW: They ask for personal information too: name, address, phone number; but I guess if they are actually filing the report, it is necessary.  I was asked if they could share the report with other law enforcement agencies: I said they could share info about the call, but not my personal info).

Got a call from some  east indian accented guy talking about VISA claiming he was at the head office. He knew my first name. I told him he must be scamming me. So he said yes this is a scam and I am going to charge you $600 to your card. I called back to the number 4129234565 and got the message:

Got a call from 480-9390 from some guy with an accent he said he was from mastercard this time he called me before saying he was from visa I told him where to go and he called me back 3 times swearing and threatening me I reported him to phonebusters last time guess they don't do anything
