I answered and they hung up. Nothing

I picked up the call and they said I was eligible to lower my interest rates for my credit card. They didn't state the company name, and they requested that I press 1 to get started. I hung up and immediately called my bank, and they told me it was spam.

Answered the call and an "East Indian"voice said he was Cardmember services and was calling in regards to lowering my interest rates on my credit cards.  I went a long for a bit, gave them some information (duh move), then had second thoughts.  They threatened to send a deny letter to my credit card companies.  I believe they were mad they did not get enough information.  Or did they? Not taking any chances.

Typical delay and a "click"after picking up phone for a "robodialled" call. Probably a trainee telemarketer of low competence reading from a "what to say" blurb who is just unable to connect in time: the phone goes dead. Telemarketing centers are paid commission for the number of "hits" by solar power or other companies. Probably best not to trust a company who does NOT 1)have a brick and mortar office in your area with a callback phone number answered by a live employee 2) have a valid callback number on caller ID 3)are registered with the BBB, and 4)have favorable customer reviews on Google or Yelp.  Otherwise you may be at risk of ID theft, or shoddy work by out of state contractors who work out of a car or truck. Never reveal your name, address or personal information on answering these "cold" calls.

There was no message but since I did not know the caller I did not pick up.

The recorded message when I answered was "Hello, this is Lisa from card services. We see you are eligible to reduce your credit card interest to a low 6%.  Press 1 to speak to a representative".  I pressed 1, just to say I'm on the do not call registry and to please remove my number. (If you're on the registry, you have to tell them to remove you and be called again before the FCC will do anything.). Anyway, I was transferred to someone with -surprise- an Indian accent. When I told him I was n the registry and to please remove my number, he chanted " who said that, who said that?  F@ck you bit@h, f@ck you bit@h, ha ha ha ", then hung up.  Most certainly a scam.  Also to note, I've received several calls from "Lisa at card services" from all over the country.  I usually hang up, but one other time when I asked to be removed, it was again an Indian accent and I was hung up on, no cursing.
