Recorded message claims to be Amazon re fraudulent activity on my account

I don't know if this is a scam or an actual fraud alert but best to play it safe.  Any number, even a legitimate fraud alert number, can be spoofed.  The telling is what the call asks you to do.  Do they ask you to confirm your account number or provide any type of personal or financial information?  Don't do it but don't ignore the call.  Call the amazon customer support number or go online to your account and check for suspicious activity.  Scammers are clever but they also win by throwing doubt on legitimate fraud calls. Don't ignore possible fraud calls but be sure to initiate the call yourself to a published number or use the customer portal online.
