Woodinville,
WA 98072-3002 - Your'e wrong replies to Our SuperheroSorry, but 425-390-8123 is not, and has nothing to do with, NCS. Since you're wrong about that, how can we believe you're right about the other number?
Makes me think you're actually working for the outfit making the calls.....and trying to divert attention away from your sleazy operation. - I do, too... replies to I hate morons... hate morons, that is.
I don't care much for folks who simply rant on sites like this without posting anything useful, either.
Calling them and hanging up, for instance, is an idea of morons. Writing to them, without having the true name of the company or its address, is another such idea.
TALK TO THEM!!! Find out exactly who they are and what they want. Lie to them; give them most of a credit card number or SSN, then ask for some of the information. "I'm expecting an important call. If we get cut off when I'm responding to the call waiting, how can I call you back?" Dead relative's SSN works, as does the number for a credit card which is expired, cancelled, or has about a $1.25 (Yep. Decimal's in the right place.) limit.
This outfit is one of the slickest of the slime. Caught me off guard, so I wasn't prepared to lead them on and find out just exactly which "life care" (Or whatever the name he used.) company was offering a "free" pendant. Never got to the point of finding out how much the monthly vigorish would be. After repeatedly refusing to comply with state and federal laws, Tom hung up before I could press on with the reverse scam, and I haven't had time to try calling back.
I hope someone else has better success!! - Help? Really? replies to SpikeIt is unlikely that Spike's link has anything to to with the callers. It is for an electric products company. Products of the sort nobody would be silly enough to try selling by telephone to residential numbers.
Moreover, having talked (briefly, before the guy hung up) to them, I know they aren't selling anything related. Talking to them is the most important thing to do, and the most effective way to put a stop to them. Ask questions. Get information. You may have to play along as if interested, but eventually if enough of us do it, we'll have a clear picture of who's bothering us. Then, it might motivate some of us to file lawsuits.
Posting distracting information (Was Spike an employee of the telemarketing New Co?) like wrong identities or improper web sites just wastes your time, wastes the time of the people who read the false claims, and makes it more difficult to track down the real culprits. In other words, check and check again to be sure your information is right, before "sharing" it.
Asking to be put on "the do not call list" often fails to accomplish the goal. Sometimes it's a dunderhead. Sometimes it's a deliberate distraction/deception. Either way, one response is, "We can't do that. You have to do it yourself." (Meaning the governmental Do Not Call lists, and pretending they don't have an internal one.) A clearer and more difficult to avoid request would be, "Put us on all of your do not call lists." Mentioning more than one is important, in the event the callers are acting on behalf of some other outfit, and the two entities have two different lists. They may put you on one DNC list, but not the other.
