How do u block them??? Cause I have tried and can't do it

I got this message when I tried calling back: "The number you have called is temporarily out of service..."

The DNC list is usless for a LOT of calls now because most are spoofed calls from a predatory call center in Mumbai.  The FBI has tried for 12 years to shut them down but can't because they are considered a "legitimate" business in India. (Russia just opened up a dozen or so call centers, too, so it's only going to get WORSE.)

Despite the fact that Americans, particularly the elderly, are losing millions of dollars to these low-life dirtbags, our state reps and assorted Congresspeople aren't interested in doing anything about it, saying it's "not on their radar..."  Too bad we couldn't find a way to forward ALL of these annoying calls directly to them! It would sure get "on their radar" pretty quickly, don't you think?

For now, I will put on noise-cancelling headphones and blast an air horn into the phone in the hopes that the caller's head will simply explode (thus rendering him/her unable to ever call me - or you - again...)

I know of only two ways to block them:

1. If your landline provider offers it, it's a "call block" feature (they can give you the particulars)

2. Instead of a landline (or phone through cable TV), get VOIP such as PhonePower.  My brother has had this service for at least 3 years and LOVES it! PhonePower offers many features including call block that you manage yourself online.  And PP costs WAY less than conventional landline service (another bonus!)

Added them as a contact titled, "425-658-8994," so that I don't pick up. Odd thing is, they almost never call back ... I have a list of "scam contacts" a mile long now. Are they using throwaway phones?

Got a call at my home phone AND my cell phone.  That's messed up.

12APR2012 9:42pm got 'missed' call from 425-658-8994 on my cell phone. Did not answer unrecognised number. No message left in voice mail. Phone is registered with FTC "Do-Not-Call" list. So much for our 'efficient' government at work.
